Kirill, a Moscow journalist writing about the supernatural, has been having strange disturbing dreams. He receives an unusual amulet as a souvenir and is magically transported to the Altai Mountains, thousands of miles away from Moscow. His dangerous journey is just beginning.

Kirill's sister Sasha, an actress in a children's theatre, sets out to the Altai Mountains to bring him home. On the eve of Sasha's arrival Kirill dreams of a beautiful girl with flame like hair. he doesn't realize yet that the Amulet is awake and that the dark forces are near.

Fate brings together all the heroes at night, in the middle of the forest. Lika's car crashes and burns. Fearing the rage of her boyfriend Knyazev, all heroes decide to run for it.

Knyazev wants to punish those responsible for the destruction of his car. Kirill, Sasha and their new friends escape on a raft. But the raft overturns in the middle of the river, and they lose each other.

After the raft crashes, Kirill and Raisa get out of the water near Knyazev's lodge. Knyazev is receiving important visitors - among them is his rich grandmother from Europe.

Kirill's amulet draws not only the forces of darkness but those of light as well. A wizard named Zrzhan tells Kirill that he must seal the gates between worlds with the help of the amulet.

Knyazev makes Dynya and Sasha sign a purchase contract for the destroyed car. Lika witnesses Knyazev flirting with Anzhela, the daughter of his business partner.

Sasha decides to fly a balloon to see if she can find her brother from above.

The trackers don't believe that Kirill can fulfill his mission and close the gates between worlds. They detain the group in their village. Kirill has visions again.

Arzhan tells Kirill that the flower of the fern will help him control the power of the amulet. With the trackers' help the heroes reach the Black Tree.

Kirill can't control the amulet any longer: it has reached its full power. Agapa lets him go to search for the flower of the fern.

Kirill and Maks set out to search for the flower while Raisa, Dynya and Lika go to save Sasha and Artur.

The final battle is near. Kirill, as the Chosen One, must fulfill his mission and close the gates. The fate of all worlds is in his hands but Agapa threatens to kill Sasha and everyone he holds dear.
