Sarah is unhappy when her father visits. Teevee is unimpressed by the new recreation center. Michelle is worried when Hannah doesn't seem to like the new house.

Eric moves the rest of his things from Sarah's apartment. Bertha decides not to take the scholarship in Yellowknife. Peter interrupts Harris's deal with the Italians.

Sarah is angry when she learns she can't go on vacation. Teevee is kicked out of school. Eric and Joe are looking for a missing hiker as they stumble upon a caribou.

Andre LeBret takes hostages in the band office after Peter is unable to make a deal with the Italian furrier. Eric and Michelle are in charge of the situation, but things aren't going well for them.

Maria Sangali returns to Lynx River with new ideas--which don't go according to plan. Michelle isn't feeling well after the hostage situation. Sarah works with Albert.

Inspector Cormier wants Michelle to accept a job out of town. Harris wants to marry Lois, but her son doesn't support the marriage. Teevee advises Bertha to have an abortion. Sarah and Rosie argue while taking care of an injured Leon.

Peter brings an archaeologist to Lynx River who discovers something in town that might interest everyone. Sarah is down when she makes an incorrect diagnosis. Harris and Peter try to keep the tannery business afloat.

A convict returns to Lynx River, kidnaps Eric, and wants to take revenge on Michelle. Michelle hunts for him.

Eric is frustrated when David Shore returns to Lynx River and spends time with Michelle. Gerry considers closing his business. In Edmonton, doctors must decide whether Sarah is ready to return to work.

Sarah returns to Lynx River and her work. She does her best to regain the confidence of people she let down.

Eric is still angry when he sees David with Michelle. Sarah moves in with Albert. Bertha decides to forget about Teevee and move on with her life. Peter tries to encourage Teevee to work and learn about responsibility.

Peter and Albert fight for control of the tannery. Peter talks to Michelle about her relationship with David. Eric is upset to find out that Sarah is living with Albert.

Rosie wants to open a restaurant, but Eric wants to spend the money for other things. Two animal rights activists come to Lynx River protesting against the tannery.

When the material for the tannery arrives damaged, Harris discovers that he didn't purchase an insurance policy on the company. Rosie talks to Gerry about opening a café in town. David decides to end his relationship with Michelle.

Rosie and others are depressed when the local tannery plans fail, but Peter has another plan. Gerry decides to raise prices to recuperate money he lost.

Peter and Albert assume they are the primary candidates for the position of band chief in Lynx River-until a third candidate arrives. Eric's children come to visit again, with surprises.
