Elise's life completely changes when she meets Rose. She invites Rose into her life and treats her like a sister. But when the people around them starts feeling drawn to Rose, Elise feels jealous. A tragic accident happens which changes both their lives forever.

After Rose's death, Elise can't help but feel guilty and paranoid. She feels like she is being watched and followed all the time. In this vulnerable time, she mostly leans on her boyfriend, Kyle.

Because she considers this her second life, Elise makes noticeable changes in her attitude. She decides to make amends with Kyle's parents, a more understanding daughter to her dad, and a better friend to Grace. But just as she's making all these positive changes, she receives an unexpected confession from Grace.

After Grace's death, Elise gets to bond more with her dad as she helps him prepare a surprise for her parents' anniversary. However, she discovers something about her mother that disappoints and angers her. Jarred encounters a freak accident.

After Jarred's miserable fate, Elise confronts Claire about her illicit affair. Believing that her mother hides many secrets, Elise snoops around to find evidence that will prove her suspicions about her mother.

As his conscience tortures him, Henry finds refuge in Elise. Meanwhile, Claire and Elise's relationship worsens as the suspicious mother tries to prove that her daughter is not who she claims she is.

As the truth about what really happened during the night of the fire is revealed, all the deaths are pieced together. Rose finally gets the justice she seeks, but loses everything she holds dear.
