Angelo is sick to his stomach after accidentally shooting Jack, believing it was Tim trying to kill him. But he's called from leave for an emergency at the community hall. Stoned Mel locked the door and caused Kane's car to ram it, starting a gas leak which later leads to an explosion. Bartlett got trampled, but Geoff and Aden heroically took charge until police and paramedics arrives. Also thanks to Angelo and Miles, everyone is pulled out. Only Kane's condition is critical. Poor Tony finds Jack's bloody corps.

Jack is in hospital, but beyond help, and nobody knows he was accidentally shot by Angelo. Roman helps him ponder what may have happened. Kane lies in intensive care since the prom explosion, but wakes up.

Kane is recovering well enough to see Ollie and Kirstie, which makes Miles feeling superfluous, yet she takes the boy 'home'. Miles considers what drove Mel's insane misbehavior, until Jai tells it was drugs. Rachel tells only Leah she discovered Bridget's lies.

Nicole can't understand Geoff's forgiving attitude to Mel, who confesses thanks to Jai she took Matthew's pills and closed the doors out of spite. Bartlett decides to expel her from school. Aden is too concerned for wining Belle to consider university, as Roman prods fatherly. Rachel orders fake-cancer patient Bridget to leave Alf after Jack's funeral and provides a medical cover story.

Heart-broken and consumed by guilt he can't help, Angelo is unable to accept reading from the Bible at Jack's funeral. Phone records put lover-boss Charlie on the trail of Angelo's connection with Tim Coleman. She sets a trap and finds out they are keeping secrets about the fatal incident. Aden takes Belle to Roman's for her recovery and refuses to apply for any university to take care of her full-time.

Charlie releases Tim Coleman, but illegally confiscates his cell phone to set a blackmail trap for Angelo, who asks her to spend the night together but keeps silent about his part in Jack's death. He is too prudent to fall for a public meeting, and by the time a pick-up is arranged Martha has found Jack's private notebooks indicating Angelo in involved. Xavier is staying at uncle Tony's, with his ma, for cousin Jack's funeral. The rascal is welcomed by Ruby but spends ma's $50 for refreshments, which Leah's is already providing free, on more drugs.

The day of Jack's funeral sees Charlie arranging a sting to prove Angelo was responsible for his death and the arrival in town of Jack's cousin Hugo.

After Angelo's confession at Jack's funeral, Charlie subjects her genuinely heart-broken lover a hostile interrogation, without any comprehension for his sad story. Xavier vehemently forbids big bro Hugo to lecture him after such a long absence. Ma Gina and Hugo are shocked kid bro resorted to dealing drugs to supplement Hugo's financial contribution for Brandon's and their own needs. Hugo decides to 'step up again', by moving to Summerbay and taking Xavier off ma's hands so both can take it easier 'for a while'. Kane demands Miles steps back to let Ollie be reunited ...

Belle returns home and plans to write her article after all. Roman accepts that Aden won't study for a whole year, news which Geoff slips out. Aden is furious when Nicole shows him that she sent his application in so he's accepted for the city university. Kirstie rather grimly accepts Miles's decision that she must reunite Ollie with Kane, who announces they have to leave for the only job he can get, up north. Jai insists Miles should opt for his own love and family, but by the time he listens Kane has just left.

Thanks to Aden, Rachel discovers spineless whiner Belle's growing pills addiction. Aden is furious that Nicole made the prawn trailer owner believe he was going to study, so his fishery job is lost. Jai forgives Miles for giving up on Ollie and Kirstie. Miles finally punishes Mel as harshly as she deserves. Jai offers to mind VJ while Miles need to let off steam. Having seen Bridget leave the country, her accomplice and creditor decides to kidnap VJ for ransom from Leah instead.

Bridget's accomplice calls Leah to demand $30,000 for VJ. She waves everyone's advice to inform the police. Alf pretends to have forgotten his driver's license in his coat because he wants to give Bridget a necklace, so they miss her train and Florida flight. Learning about the kidnapping, she anonymously tells the police to look for Brian Lawler. The cops' arrival makes him flee with the boy, who ultimately escapes so Brian is arrested and betrays Bridget, whom Rachel already made confess to Alf.

The official reconstruction of Jacks's death convinces Angelo's lawyer to change his plea to innocent. Aden apparently now deeply hates job-wrecker Nicole. Even a gentle lecture and mediation from Aden only lead to a food-fight just when Roman arrives. Now the truth is out, Bridget is dumped by everyone as well as arrested, leaving Alf heartbroken, yet he refuses to sue.

Angelo's reconstruction puts all stress on the crime scene search for the bullet which killed Jack. When it's finally found, it matches Angelo's police weapon. Tony was a tower of strength, but now Rachel's wining he forgot about a routine prenatal examination is just too much. Leah makes Aden's day, enough to go easy on Nicole, bu convincing mate Louis DeBono to reconsider hiring him on the prawn trailer. Belle finishes her piece on the toxic dump, at Aden's instigation regardless of her ex Angelo's part.

Gloom remains over Jack's death. Tony welcomes Xavier and Hugo's arrival. Miles and Alf ponder Rachel's theory Mel's provocative mischief stems from conditioning by Christine's iron discipline. Xavier tells Ruby they can only be friends because he has a girl-friend back home. She assumes he must long for herself and gets them drunk, alas by stealing Jack's champagne for the boat's christening. Tony would forgive them, but Hugo decides to move out stat. Gavin's successor as editor offers Belle a newspaper reporter job.

Xavier handles being blamed unfairly for Ruby's thieving well. After more kissing he even decides to dump his home town girlfriend again. Hugo charms himself into good graces with Jack's other loved ones. Roman however turns on him. Miles worries for Melody, who has run away. The police hears she been taken to Melbourne by a truck driver.

Barely arrived in Melbourne, Melody is dumb enough to leave her bag unattended the first night at Terry's shelter. She loses all her possessions at once. Yet she's too proud to accept a meal from a friendly boy. Miles and Charlie look for her, sharing a hotel room. Terry only says she was there, yet doesn't report her when she returns looking for her bag. At home, Jai is too worried to sleep. The second night, Mel finally accepts the generous kid's only blanket.

Xavier first sweetly helps Tony prepare the gym, then sneaks off with Ruby to cuddle and kiss. They're startled by his ex Freya's arrival. In Melbourne, runaway Melody is totally dependent on street kid Archie Maddocks, who ran away from his abusive step-dad. Although she scolds him for stealing a wallet from three rude rowdies, he takes a beating and gives her the loot to return home. Miles finds them, repays Archie and reassures Mel she's welcome back.

Freya's unexpected arrival 'to stay with him indefinitely' manages to get her un-dumped by Xavier, effectively dumping Ruby. Hugo however rudely reclaims the poor knave for reparational chores. Jai and mates consider chasing Freya from the caravan park, only Nicole respects her cheek. Overprotective even by her wining standards, Roman treats Martha to a picknick. After Xavier dumps Freya, she pretends Hugo came on to her.

Xavier gratefully accepts a job at Roman's, ignoring Irene promised it to Ruby. She offers to be friends anyway, but Freya masterly makes his jealous enough to get back on kissing terms. Nicole invited Ade and Belle to dinner, but messes up the cooking and even walks out on the mess with Geoff alone in the kitchen. Hugo reproaches Roman to do anything for Martha without realizing she's into him too.

Geoff brings his teammates to Tony's gym but finds it closed without rational reason, actually despair after loosing Jack, as Rachel finds. Aden starts working on Lou di Bono's prawn trailer with Robbo Cruze. After Hugo convinces Martha Roman's support is really love, she meanly pushes him away. Alf considers Hugoas new diving instructor. Belle panics over car trouble on her first day as reporter but even Aden draws the line at risking his job again so he ends up turning his cellphone off. The ingrate coward relapses in pill abuse.

Geoff spots Freya as trouble at first sight. Nicole defends her and scolds him for being proud of and devoted to his school captain job. Xavier starts at school. Freyya teases him with 'hotties lists' and embarrasses him by tearing his shirt of during his lunch break diner shift. Bartlet belittles him for no reason and forces him to team up with bitter Ruby for an assignment. Rachel hopes to distract Tony by volunteering both to help with Leah's birthday party. Freya publicly kisses Nicole at school.

Leah's birthday party is far from a happy interlude. Geoff broods on Nicole pretending being kissed by Freya meant nothing. Xavier was dragged there by Hugo, after Ruby meanly tried to have 'rival' Freya banned, yet doubts hi choice again. Leah's parents are suddenly heading for divorce because of ma's incessant bossy nagging. Tony slipped out and tells Rachel he has enough of her dragging him to company. Leah gets drunk, throws her meddling ma out and kisses Roman for being so sweet and sexy.

Hugo offers Alf a sweet diving business deal, but Roman advising caution leads to a refusal. Leah's playful brother Chris Poulos is interested in Charlie, who gives up on Martha. Theo feels guilty for wrecking the family business, considering that the root of his marital break-up. Leah offers a bail-out loan, but Helen turns it down. Both business propositions get another chance

Aden and Belle experience their irregular job hours mix badly. Her lateness caused the community center to be closed down, even early. Mel tries to mediate but bumps into her ma and her grandma whom she presumed to be in New Zealand. Aden discovers he or Joey, the girl who was initially hired instead of him, will probably be sacked soon.

Freya presses Xavier to help her pay for expenses by dealing in pot. He pretends to, actually giving her his own wages, yet accepts to come along as protector when she decides to 'triple' the winnings by converting them into pills. An easy prey is Belle. Her moody ingratitude is getting to much for Aden. He gets even worse after unselfishly saving Joey's bacon with trailer-owner Lou. Mel's ma asks her along to grandma's New Zealand home, but after ample consideration she stays with Miles.

Freya forces Xavier to hide some pills he refuses to sell into his locker. Ruby assumes he's her accomplice and steals them. Trying to flush them, she's caught by Charlie, who alerts Bartlett. Both encourage the newspaper to report on the story, a task landing with Belle, actually Freya's first big customer. Hugo says he trusts Xavier and fails to date Charlie. Freya is furious to have lost her dope. She abducts Xavier and Ruby in a boat which hits Hugo's.

Xavier braves reproaches to report Hugo's boat being crashed-into. Luckily Hugo was diving too deep to notice anything. Freya's mischief is now exposed. Xavier still insists to help her escape the angry drug-dealer. Yet he cops an absurd beating after Freya took the $500, which Ruby 'borrowed' from Roman under false pretenses, and left town. Kirstie surprisingly returns to Summerbay, telling Irene Kane can't believe she sincerely chose him over Miles and refuses to risk another man raising their son Ollie.

Leah's dad Theo Poulos drives her and Roman mad. She discovers he's planning to leave to Cyprus, feeling useless after VJ spilled the beans, so she gets brother Chris and ma. Miles allows Mel to invite her grandma to dinner before she returns to New Zealand. Christine's warning comes true, she proves an even worse scolding monster.

New pupil Trey Palmer's suggestion to spend the Dan memorial funds on an annual hiking trip wins over Geoff's chill-room at school. Nicole's vote was decisive, making Geoff fear Trey's flirtation seduced her. Tony is even more morbidly mourning after having to tell Lucas, who decides to stay in India, about Jack's death, so in no mood for frivolities with Rachel. Melody takes Annie's advice and accepts to move in with apparently reformed ma in late grandma's New Zealand home, indefinitely.

Geoff and Nicole overcome the Trey jealousy crisis by extending a school assignment with a saucy photo-shoot. But she still questions their relationship because of his 'dull prudery'. Aden still wants to help ingrate Joey, whom Robbo targets mercilessly. Rachel discovers Tony has been lying and set up a meeting with a certain Belinda. Belle's wining about her job inadequacy by now wears out Aden's patience enough to turn his phone off till dinner.

Aden is surprised to see Joey kiss Robbo and puzzled when skipper Gibbo says those two just have 'lover fibs'. Belle is now a total drug addict, and editor Jerry threatens to sack her if she ever turns in another piece full of utter nonsense. Having noticed Tony slip out at night, Rachel is willing to turn a blind eye patiently. But selfish Martha's stirring makes her follow him the next night.

Xavier and Ruby hesitate to applaud a date between Hugo and Charlie, but something makes Hugo cancel last-minute. Tony is furious to hear Rachel followed him and assumed Belinda must be a lover, while in act she's innocently helping him with a marvelous surprise in honor of Jack's memory. Aden is further confused to find Jeoy resigns, but landed a complaint, then redraws it. The authorities still inspect the prawn vessel, and find in technically in an unacceptable state.

Kirstie returns to unamused Irene, having 'stolen back' Ollie from Kane. But the devoted daddy already tracked them down and get his darling boy back. Although Charlie told Hugo they had a mere business meeting, she gives him the cold shoulder after he bailed out on business. Ruby even vicariously has a go at Xavier. Jai helps him find a cute, original way to make up, which gets them back on kissing terms.

Kane ultimately accepts Kirstie didn't break up to return to Miles. He even accepts to leave without Ollie. Belle just wines about mediocre pop singer Liam's interview assignment. At his concert, Geoff refuses to abandon Annie, who hurt her ankle, but Nicole stays alone, calling him a judgmental spoilsport. Lou de Bono wriggles out of Colleen's speed dating, but Roman has eyes only for fellow forced contestant Leah.

Nicole finds out about extremely moody Belle's upper and downer pills addiction but promises to stay silent, Belle to stop stat, before Aden works it out too. As if realizing boring is better then bad, Nicole kisses up with Geoff and actually offers instead of demanding apologies for her selfish insensitivity. Joey finally tells Aden what happened, but only by blaming his unsuspecting absence!

Joey absurdly makes Aden feel somewhat guilty for not guessing his presence might have prevented Robbo raping her, and the accused firmly denies it was without consent. Belle however ignores Aden and her warning not to go public by confronting Lou, who sent Irene flowers, and nearly addressing Robbo. Xavier feels it's up to him to cheer up Jai, and comes up with a stunt skateboarding on top of a trash can, which goes dangerously wrong. Miles is prepared to do anything, even free school paperwork, to prevent Martin giving Kirstie a part-time school secretariat job.

Xavier feels confident nobody can find out he ride Alf's wheelie bin on top of a skateboard, so he lies even to Hugo. But Jai makes a false confession, which makes Xavier owe up, which makes Hugo threaten one more stunt means retuning home with Brandon at ma's. Bartlett hires Kirstie part-time and forces Miles to help her with inventory. While bickering they lock themselves up in the storage-room. Roman and Leah cooked a seafood dinner for them, invited separately, from Lou's freebies.

Geoff is not amused when Nicole invites newbie Trey Palmer to study with her and sides with his show-off idea to film scenes for a book report project. In the gym, Trey tricks Geoff into accidentally hitting him. Once Nicole believes it was malice, he dares kiss her. After being trapped with Kristie, Miles admits to Alf he felt but fights a spark again.

Roman makes Nicole realize she's the one who teased Trey beyond reason. This time Geoff isn't ready to just forgive and forget. Both are really unsettled when Joey makes a lesbian pass at Nicole, but for Aden that's the way to prove to the police she couldn't consent to Robbo. Tony is finally ready to christen his Jack-boat. Hugo convinces Martha she must attend.

Now the Jack memorial boat is finished, Tony surprises Rachel with baby gifts. The police reports Aneglo won't be prosecuted for accidentally shooting Jack. Again to Tony's horror, the boat goes missing, with bad weather ahead. Joey tells Charlie she'll never testify against Robbo because her bigot big brother Brett may never know she's gay, but Aden won't let Robbo get off. Lou finally convinces Irene to accept a dinner date, a success after they downgrade from opera to pier..

Geoff sees Nicole with a guy, which she lies about, and supposes she's cheating on him. Only when Roman tells him he allows her surprise boat trip to go trough, Geoff forgives her, even apologizes, and accepts. It's a return to the island where they got stranded and made love the first time. Hugo finds Tony's boat, washed up after the storm with the idiotic thief: Martha, who manages to wine to and about everybody who tries to help the fickle ingrate. Xavier isn't pleased when Hugo tells he invited their ma and handicapped brother Brendan for a week.

Geoff and Nicole enjoy their island trip at first, until she sulks off because he suspects she may want sex again. By the time she returns, wining a bout a foot injury, a sinister, shipwrecked man has invited himself to their campfire. He destroys obviously worried Geoff's phone and warns he his killed before. At school, Trey cleverly plays into Kirstie's overheard utterings and financial situation, asking her to become his English tutor. Foirced by Hugo total to third brother Brandon on the phone, unwilling Xavier still sounds sweet.

On the island, the fiend forces Geoff -who worries even for his health- to fight him off to he and Nicole can escape. In the morning they discover he found and stole their boat. Luckily Roman gets suspicious, seeing it in the marina, and gets Hugh to rescue the kids. Ingrate Nicole however now avoids Geoff, clinging only to daddy. In school, Kirstie takes Trey's side against innocent Jai, who now understands why Miles, who gets a 'meddler' scolding on top, no longer cares for her in their lives. Trey meanwhile wins Ollie's confidence.

Tony secretly plans a wedding confirmation with the gang, to cheer up Rachel. Against scared Joey's will, Charlie arrests Robbo after a testimony from his ex, Tanya, who claims he abused her but absconds without signing her statement. Belle's articles impress editor Jerry Thibault, who has a bad car accident. He offers her a chance to step in if she remains discrete about his mistress Paula.

At their third low-key date, Irene finally tells Lou she's a recovering alcoholic, which proves no problem. Big brother Brett Collins has thrown Joey out of the home, as their late dad would have wanted, for being Lesbian. Leah takes her in for a while, sharing Ruby's room. VJ seems to like her, while turning on the others, presumably feeling threatened by ma dating George. Belle's editor's request for Belle to act during his recovery has overruled by the boss, so Jerry's wife Paula gets the job and demotes Belle, now under ruthless supervision. Rachel suspects her ...

Geoff is depressed because Nicole ignores him since the island. He cheers up when Martha shows him she bought the former Campbell farm, but Annie can't stand the memories, until late grandpa Bruce's dog is also returned. Lou takes Irene to a fancy club bar. While Lou shows Hugo a boat shed, she's scolded by his posh wife Donna and her haughty friends as a fellow gold-digger, while she ignored their divorce wasn't final. Aden tells his worries about moody Belle to Rachel, who realizes it must be drug abuse. Acting editor Paula overhears that and fires her.

Geoff finally gets to see Nicole and invites her to visit the Campbell farm before its sold. However she shows no interest and refuses to cancel an appointment with Aden, in fact to help him pick jewelry for Belle. Geoff overhears her tell Aden, envious of expensive treats, you can't take the country out of the boy. Geoff dumps the superficial ingrate. Aden chooses to believe Belle's lies she wasn't fired. Irene refuses to go on with Lou, even now he promises to speed up his divorce.

Hvaing dumped superficial Nicole, Geoff resents any contact with her so much he resigns as school captain. Xavier's ma brings embarrassing half-wit brother Brendan along on visit, so he tells Ruby to stay away. He's still great with the adoring lout, but is miserable to hear Hugo volunteered to take care of Brendan while ma recovers from a fall due to the moody kid. VJ mopes to have no dad coaching him at soccer, until Roman volunteers for and shines in the job. Trey still plays tutor Kristie masterly, but expects her to be romantically interested.

To Xavier's horror, Hugo demands he drops his entire life, even a week of school, to 'spare Martha' by taking care of Brendan full-time. Jai drops by and discovers why Xavier lied to be sick. He and Ruby insist 'sparing them' is insulting, Xavier experience shows Brendan complicates things hopelessly. Miles overhears Trey brag about Kirstie and threatens with suspension, in vain: he gets more Jane Austin coaching. Robbo fails to get his restraining order revoked.

After Trey told Kirstie he finds her attractive, she tells his dad John she can't continue tutoring him 'because of her son'. But when John threatens to complain to principal Bartlett, Kirstie gives in. Leah ponders with Rcahel whether giving Roman a drunken did and should mean something. Next she apologizes to Roman, who is amused and eagerly offers a mutually enjoyed repeat-performance.

Xavier's mates seem to accept and handle Brendan better then expected. Joey cooked seafood to apologize for kissing Charlie, but she sticks to a date with Hugo, so the kids are invited instead. Trey's bid for Kirstie has driven her back in Miles's arms, she's even allowed to move back in. Trey seeks revenge by reporting her to Bartlett.

Xavier scolds Hugo for never keeping his promise to share the burden of caring for Brendan. The half-wit is so displeased with his bumbling attempts he wines only Xavey is his brother. Kirstie makes the Palmers' complaint even worse by publicly abusing Trey. After Robbo's ex Tanya is found run over, Charlie assumes he committed a hit and run. Runaway Joey is next on his list, but her credit card trace leads to police to her hotel just before he can drown her.

Roman and Lerah make love. While the farm gets Geoff melancholic, Hugo, Roman and Tony are suckered by Alf into helping. Tony and Rachel choose it as wedding venue. Broke addict Belle offers her pills dealers Aden's designer necklace as security. Nicole saw them pawn it and tells Aden the truth. Charlie's confused feelings for Joey also compromise her conduct in Robbo's case.

Geoff demonstrates a real farmer's tireless effort. Aden is furious to discover Belle's pills stash, proving Niocle was right about the addict. Yet after hearing the truth, he takes pity on the liar. Lou takes Irene on his yacht.

Geoff is his sweet, naive self, except when Trey brags about his 'real woman' Kirstie. Now VJ is delighted with Roman as male role model, he and Leah decide to throw a dinner to present themselves as a couple. However VJ wants no more date to be taken away and Nicole spills the beans. Addict Belle dares blame Nicole for telling Aden the truth. Lou convinces Irene to go on a yacht holiday without waiting for his difficult divorce.

Hugo keeps bumbling with Brendan and dumping him on Xavier. Roman and Leah stay together, hoping VJ will accept them again. Brendan refuses to accompany to mam's. Martha insists she'll mind him so Xavier can join a kids beach party, but lets him escape and cause a serious accident with Roman's car. Annie calls Aden having noticed how sick Belle is. He refuses to repeat the misery with his pa, until even more selfish ex Nicole makes him reconsider.

Roman is rushed to hospital, where his injury is diagnosed so bad he needs urgent brain surgery. Xavier desperately hides the traces of Brenda's fatal slingshot, but the half-wit may easily betray himself, Trey may already have guessed. The only silver lining is VJ admitting he doesn't want to loose Roman or his ma. Brett Collins proposes to take Joey along when he moves north, which she turns down until Charlie makes clear a lesbian relationship is definitely out of the question.

While Roman fights for his life in hospital, the police investigation betrays Xavier's short absence to Hugo, who bullishly scolds his brother 'eternally selfish'. To Miles and Martin's relief, Kirstie receives a letter from Trey, clearing her of inappropriate behavior. After Trey's mate Corey confesses they knocked down school windows with a slingshot, it looks like they also hit Roman's car, but Kirstie denies him a true alibi. Brendan escapes again, flees into a tree and falls.

Kirstie admits her lies and blackmail at Trey's expense to Miles. Martin and father John Palmer also work out the truth, so she's fired and Palmer goes public against Miles and officially charges him with assaulting his son. Now Aden is taking care of her, foppish Belle pretends she's trough the worst and decides to return to work in the diner. Aden catches her dealer Russel leaving another 'free sample'.

Annie found out about addict Belle's lies and tells people. Geoff is furious that even Nicole, whom he just hugged commiserating about Roman's condition, didn't tell him and decides to move out with Annie. Martha hires as farmhand on trial the first come local girl, Claudia Hammond, Geoff's former primary school buddy. Tony's wedding marquis restores Rachel's enthusiasm.

Tony and Rachel enjoy their wedding on the farm. Even Leah left Roman's bed-side to attend. Xavier's desperate efforts to prevent Brendan betraying himself ultimately fail. Belle is found out having pills in her purse by Aden, who bitterly leaves her, and by Geoff actually taking them.

Addict Belle has wrecked Tony's wedding reception by fainting, bride Rachel helps Dr. Dereke Young save her life. Ma Austin has dragged the truth out of Xavier and tells Hugo, who only blames poor Xavier, as always. Brendan is send back to ma's place till further notice about Roman's condition. Luckily he finally wakes up, but is blind, possibly permanently.

When Xavier hears Roman is blinded indefinitely, he bravely tells him Brendan caused the accident and he covered it up. Roman nobly answers he holds no grudge against either knavish brother. Aden's rude skipper Gibb semi-accidentally hits him a bloody nose. Joey reports the incident, but Aden refs-uses to file a complaint.

Bartlett tells Miles the Department's inspector has arrived to examine his hard-handed treatment of Trey. Another incident with Jai and pa Palmer make it even more worrying. Alf has to attend his son Duncan's unexpected wedding, so the diner is badly understaffed. Ruby discovers her sister's new love is Lesbian but finds that hard to believe and deal with.

The Palmers impress the Department inspector far more then verbally bumbling Miles. However after he finds out from Jai Trey transferred to escape bullying, the knave retracts his complaints. Hugo is even edgier while the Austin brothers wait for the goods news no charges will be pursued. Meanwhile Martha openly regrets he seems afraid to show his gentle side, especially to her. Brett fails to convince Joey to move back home away from, whom he later charges with abusing her official authority to 'seduce' his sister. Afer Charlie's car is marked 'queer' she still gives a school lecture against vandalism. Trey there takes the lead in taunting 'dikes', even in Martin's presence.

Hugo tells his brothers they won't be charged. Blind Roman is finally home. Aden needs to help him without hurting his manly pride while being a tower of strength for Nicole. The youngsters end up in bed, secretly. Ruby is furious to discover her sister has two-timed both Hugo and Joey. Indeed Charlie even lies and get away wit a slap on the wrist after Brett's complaint.

Roman plays tough with the kids and jokes with Tony and Miles, but his fanatic stress on putting everything meticulously in place hides nightmares. Aden feels miserable as if he cheated on Roman and belle by sleeping with Nicole, who wants to tell dad. Belle still isn't cooperative in rehab until the therapist works on her individually. She also learns the artist Liam Murphy is in the same center.

Geoff worries for Claire after a call so much that when Miles confiscates his cellphone he runs to the farm. She surprise his by kisses, but is seen lip-locking with her alleged 'immature ex' Lachie too. Jai is even less willing to make up as Miles asks then Trey, so the cocky knaves decide to settle things by fist-fight after school. In rehab, Belle meets rock musician Liam Murphy and witnesses his problems with wife Chelsea Hudson and the paparazzi after the model.

Geoff is now totally protective about Claudia and offers her a free caravan. When she tells him Lochie really wants her back, he's ready to go all the way. Nicole sees them kiss and tries to make Geoff jealous with Trey. Jai tells Trey to delay their fist-duel a day when adults are expected to be away. Meanwhile he asks Roman about self-defense, but the SAS veteran just advises avoiding fights. Returning Hugo's missing cell-phone, Joey finds Charlie's earring and pretends she knew already. During their fist-fight on the beach, the rascals accidentally start a fire.

After the fight accidentally starts a fire in the caravan park, Trey just runs. Jai gets help, finds and saves Geoff and Claudia, whose affair is thus exposed. Hugo is obviously baffled Ruby blames him for Charlie's infidelity. Geoff finds out Claudia's dirty game when her 'ex' Lachie' gives him a bloody nose. Alf is back.

Geoff is atypically distracted in class, even gets a warning from Martin. Claudia tries to worm out of her lies and infidelity. Nicole assumed Geoff slept with Claudia because his virginity caused the break-up with Nicole. Liam Murphy is becoming close with Belle. Her former editor Terry tempts her to play a paparazzi trick on him, just now he finally gets a visit from his toddler-son Ash.

Roman barely sleeps, has nightmares about his accident and got so insufferably grumpy that Aden has to call him to order. Liam is furious to see photos of him and toddler Ash, presumably Belle's, in the newspaper, but she finds out Annie left them unguarded, claiming Aden probably copied and sold them. This she happens to see Aden kiss Nicole, who seduced him to get physical again with or without love, and acts jealously, causing Roman to find out.

Hugo still hasn't learned to handle Brendan as flexibly as clever Xavier, nor Martha to stop sabotaging even necessary authority acts. This time Brendan gets a bloody nose and runs away, just now ma Gina arrives being rid of her plaster. Roman throws Aden out for being seduced into bed by Nicole. After Jai reports having seen him sleep on the beach, Miles puts him up in a caravan. Temptress Nicole ignores dad and demands more 'friends benefits'.

Hugo has a hard time explaining to his family how Brendan came to be injured while Miles plans a surprise for Kirsty when she gets a letter about her divorce.

Geoff accepts to meet Claudia again even after Lachie knocked him down on account of her two-timing them. They decide to get over their guilt, she promises to stay away from Lachie, they kiss up. Roman finally starts counseling, albeit on a hostile tone and basically still unwilling to accept help. Leah maneuvers to make him join dinner, but even VJ's need for a father-figure doesn't win him over, so Miles takes the boy to the beach. Aden seems to settling at Miles's and nearly ruins a drug bust by picking a fight with Belle's pills dealer at the surf-club. Having ...

While playing on the beach, Miles and VJ found a hand with bite-marks. Locals fearing for tourism hoped to keep it quiet, but the rumor is spread like wildfire by Collen and a journalist. The coroner confirms it's a shark-bite. Nicole commiserates with Trey, who tells John is his overbearing step-dad, a Navy veteran, who grounded him indefinitely with non-stop chores. Charlie's stupid attempt to coldly deny a shark caused police HQ to send a task-force to Summer Bay, headed by none other then Angelo.

Angelo's return to head the shark task force for the water police area command is all but welcomed by Jack's loved-ones. Even his his former police colleagues ignore him being fully cleared of guilt in Jack's death and refuse to cooperate professionally. The pranks and verbal abuse get so absurd Charlie feels obliged to put her similar feelings aside. Geoff is happy kissing with Claudia, but tells her exams and football season will cut into his tome schedule. Xavier is worried sick about Hugo, who keeps diving alone and lost radio contact at sea.

Hugo drags himself home, hoping to keep the shark attack secret, then to hospital after hearing Colleen already spread Jaws-horror stories. Tony nearly attacks Angelo physically just for being around. Roman rudely refuses to let Trey see Nicole, who disregards Jai's personal objections as well.

Just released from rehab, Belle treats Angelo as rudely as almost everybody. Aden wrecks a bothersome photographer's camera, but feels chased when Liam arrives, demanding Belle's help. Only Miles tells Angelo he deserves another chance, being innocent of Jack's death, but needs to be patient. Despite his nightmarish desperation, Roman accepts to talks to VJ and manages to appease his anxiety after finding the shark-bitten hand on the beach, which Dr. Thmpson couldn't. That does both of them the world of good. After Alf, even Miles gets worried about the shark panic ...

Angelo brings Irene to hospital with the cop she shot while Lou's yacht was boarded. She's diagnosed drunk and gives an inconsistent story he can't accept, so she's arrested awaiting formal charges. Yet everyone rudely treats Angelo as the fiend. Belle adds a public slap to such verbal abuse, and is jailed by the book. Liam and Aden hold a scolding match who hurt Belle most.

Tony grimly barks at Charlie at how unfair it seems to him that the police leaves the investigation to Angelo, whose mere sight the grieving dad can't stand. In jail, Irene mourns for actually still missing Lou while Belle whines on. Liam tells Aden to ask Belle for the truth. Aden begs Angelo to let Belle off out of compassion, but Charlie has already released her illegally. Tony allows Aden to join the Slingers village team. Aden is angry to discover Belle plays Liam's addict sponsor. Forensic evidence makes HQ order Angelo to charge Irene as suspect for shooting ...

An old friend of Roman's reveals a dark secret from Roman's past. Doubts are raised about Hugo's shark story. Nicole's attraction towards Trey increases.

Roman's mate stops 'Hardcore' from coming clean about having had to shoot Elliot's SAS-brother Mark in Afghanistan. Trey meanwhile 'plays' with Nicole until caught shirtless by big mouth Ruby, then runs off curiously embarrassed and apologizes to Xavier for repeating dad's rudeness about Hugo. In the Surfclub, John's verbal abuse and Grady's taunting nature cause a big brawl.

Roman has a blast with Grady and invites him to stay indefinitely, regardless of Nicole's aversion for the ruffian. Angelo gets more forensic evidence during Irene's hearing-preparation and Lou's widow Donna shows he changed his will in Irene's favor, leading to an additional murder plot charge, without bail. Hugo considers a publicity project. Aden's objections to Belle playing sponsor for fellow addict Liam are ignored. Gardy pulls military rank to knock Roman's confidence back into shape. Liam offers to pay for a better lawyer.

Roman resents being thrown off a bridge wearing a parachute in an attempt to cure his psychological blindness so much that his vet mate gets marching orders, but single malt fixes that. Summerbay speculates about Irene's trial prospects. Liam tells typically non-supportive Belle he only still talks to his wife because Chelsea blackmails him with their son Ash. Liam tells Aden Belle needs a fresh start, this time successfully, but Belle also dumps Liam. Trey keeps avoiding Nicole.

Trey's bitter attitude puzzles the kids, until Xavier and Jai work out he's not mean but still embarrassed about his -now athletic- body because of fat-kid-bashing in his childhood. Nicole is now convinced Gardy plans to abuse her and plans to 'expose him'. But after Gardy insists on more booze, Roman's latest nightmare has a happy end, in reality. Liam realizes Belle can't be relied upon but chooses to stay a supportive friend.

Angelo wants Hugo's input now forensics show the hand was bitten off by a tiger shark too, but a flippant refusal to cooperate forces him to put pressure by impounding the fishing boat. After Jai gave Abgelo lip, his tires are flattened, so he questions the obviously suspect rascal, only to be ignored even more rudely. Geoff makes Irene's day by visiting her in jail, where a hardened convict supplies her with booze.

Hugo is finally ready to help Angelo by showing him where the tiger shark attacked him, but changes her mind until there's a court-order just for ever-irrational Martha's sake. Tony admits to Alf he still can't handle Angelo's presence. In jail, contraband booze revives Irene's nightmares, haunted by Lou's accusing voice.

Geoff worries why Claudia is so fickle and rude to him, in fact it's presumed pregnancy. Belle's editor Jerry blackmails her: arrange an exclusive with Irene or Aden will be charged for wrecking his reporter's camera. Liam offers a deal with himself instead. Hugo works so hard on the farm he's forced to stay sleep there, but decides instead to tell her he fell in impossible incestuous love with her. The shark panic hits the economy ever harder. Roman makes up with his mates.

Alg suggests the shark panic can best be stopped by killing the tiger-shark(s). Hugo disagrees but changes his mind to save the economy, and according to Xavier to prove himself to Martha, who keeps nagging. Roman is back to normal, ready to resume diner work and invites Gardy back, for longer, who gets him drink for a sinister purpose. Trey shows interest in Nicole again, but by now even Xavier has turned on him and she won't even hear his apologies. Roman refuses, so Alf and Miles are recruited as Hugo's shark hunt crew. Ruby starts a 'save the shark' campaign, ...

Drunk Roman finds himself enrolled in Gardy's crazy plan to rob a convenience store for kicks and cash, wearing balaclavas. Roman grudgingly comes along, luckily for the clerk and a bystander who gets a heart-attack and CPR from him. Geoff, Annie and Kirstie, who rightly suspects renewed alcoholism, tell Irene during their next jail visit. Trey convinces Nicole he only overreacted as former fat boy. The shark hunters can't find any yet. Gardy blackmails Roman for money and lodgings.

Hugo and Alf only notice Miles's fall of the boat after a while, but luckily find him before the sharks do, but actually none are found around. Angelo admirably bares the constant pestering and still puts his shark-investigation first. Aden is jealous and suspicious of drugs, Belle delighted when Liam tells his musicians will be in town for weeks, to do some recording.

Belle has to break the news of Lou's death to Irene and then learns Liam is back on drugs, while Martha tells Rachel about what's going on with Hugo and Tony's attitude to Angelo seems to change.

Geoff sweetly worries why Claudia seems so distant. Yet he's very supportive when she tell him she's late and fears to be pregnant, encouraging her to do a proper test. Aden manages to crawl back on the roof and get Liam off, by now in public. Although disgusted by Belle's misbehavior, he still comforts her. Trey is delighted Nicole now fully trusts him and encourages her to tell Rman about Gardy's undefined 'inappropriate' attitude. Roman is shocked when Gardy deliberately scares VJ, but gets a further shock when his mate refuses to take the 'hints' to leave, still ...

Geoff tells at home Clausia is expecting (allegedly) his baby. Miles tells Martin. Kirstie makes Annie reconsider her judgmental disloyalty. At the last moment, Nicole pulled out from having sex with Trey. Roman finds himself unwillingly dragged along preparing Gardy's next robbery, to pay off major debts. Roman tells Nicole, who already wined he's as disloyal as her ma, to stay with startled Leah for a while. Claudia arrives, kicked out by her old-fashioned parents. Nicole now accepts to make out in Trey's room, but a sound scares him. It's even worse then dad ...

Roman races to save Nicole and Trey, Claudia is forced to move in with Geoff and his family and both Belle and Angelo try to help Irene.

Tony now helps Angelo keep fit in the gym and commends his efforts to find evidence. Alf can hardly believe it, Martha pulls an absurdly abusive scene against each, which neither stands anymore. Hugo's long absence bugs the home-front. Xavier fears big brother is shirking his responsibilities again. Aden stands by Belle again, but worries about rekindling deeper feelings.

Hugo is finally back, but neither Xavier, who fears to be deserted, nor Martha, who feels loving him would be betraying Jack, believe Hugo can just ignore his problems. Angelo finally finds new evidence on Lou's boat, a third party's blood, which may undo the murder charge. Aden proves the vigilant rehab-sponsor Belle needs, which even she ends up admitting but can't handle, until he convinces her to become lovers again. Irene's alcohol is discovered in jail.

Geoff finally gets to talk to Claudia and make it clear that he can only stay with her if she keeps their baby, which works. Now Angelo's research has spared Irene a murder charge, Tony is actually grateful and invites him along fishing, while Alf remains grumpily distant. Gardy organizes his robbery troops. Roman admits to Miles he's being blackmailed with his family's safety and the Afghanistan drama. Gardy gets wind of it and threatens Miles' loved-ones too before he can tell the police. Martha hides on the farm and coldly lies to Hugo she doesn't love him ...

Gardy has smelled a rat Roman wants to turn him in to the police, so he snatches him away to an unannounced robbery-attempt without the others. Miles braves the threats to their sets of loved-ones, in time to make the police patrol so the robbery is aborted. Meanwhile Trey sort of calms Nicole's anger at Rolan and is rewarded by an invitation 'upstairs'.

Xavier points out to Hugo big bro is a bad example, but it seems like this news is water off a duck's back. Ultimately Hugo admits that he was in denial about loving Martha. Trey and Nicole had just finished making love when the police arrive, looking for Roman. Gardy drags Roman along in an armed robbery, using absurd violence, which leads to a fight, first for the guns, then Roman gets shot. Spoil-sport Belle whines that Irene may not want to celebrate returning home, but even Claudia get a warm welcome. Donna's threats she 'won't let Lou's killer get away with his ...

Xavier's truth-talk start to have some effect on Hugo, who at least learns to be more open and invites him to help set up and test the new shark diving cage. Gardy assumed Roman disabled, but he manages to slither away and attack Gardy from hiding. With Angelo on the team, after a false alarm caused by knaves playing with illegal fireworks, they end up arriving. So does Hugo first, who spears Gardy, who however escapes into the water. Irene's drinking is found out at home, but already beyond control.

Roman makes a full confession to Angelo, including how he shot Elliot's brother Mark Vogel in Afghanistan. He refuses a defense lawyer, claiming it's time to face the music. After getting Miles's promise to look after Nicole, he says goodbye to Aden and her. Hugo is now celebrated as the hero who saved Xavier and Roman. Everyone make a big drama out of a box around Annie's ear given by Irene, but it serves the crucial purpose to scare her back in AA.

Miles and Trey try to support Nicole after Roman's departure, Tony's plans don't go down well with Martha and Angelo befriends newcomer May Stone.

Hugo and Alf realize how suspicious it is Tony insisted to take Angelo fishing on Hack's birthday to a dangerous cliff near Jack's grave, can't reach him by phone and decide to go check up. Indeed, Tony can barely resist temptation to throw 'murderer' Angelo down or use a knife on him. It comes to a fist-fight over Jack's memory. Meanwhile pregnant Rachel is brought to hospital and has a worrying blood-loss, so Tony, who still resents not having been home for Jack's birth, may miss another crucial obstetrics event.

By the time Tony is found, he has Angelo, who refused to fight back, hanging from the cliff near Jack's grave, but Hugo and Alf still manage to pull him back up. In hospital, Rachel's baby is diagnosed OK. She's shocked to hear from Tony, who is now determined to get help. He gets that chance when Angelo nobly decides to refuse any official statement, so there wail be no charges. Even Martha now admits it's time to stop hating Angelo and seeks comfort with Hugo.

Jai makes a film for Colleen's festival. It requires a kissing scene Annie refuses even with him. So Xavier and Ruby do it hot enough. And it inspires them to go further: she asks him as '16th birthday present' to unwrap together. Hugo is on kissing terms with Martha, but when she runs out on dinner considers Xavier's opinion it may never work out. Despite Jai's objections which Miles waves, Nicole systematically invites Trey. He even sneaks into her bedroom to cuddle all night. Kirstie, who was mean even to Ollie, discovers them in the morning.

Geoff is delighted the team has an opening, Aden surprised they'll have to play together again. Trey is caught 'in bed' with Nicole, who protests in vain being grounded. Xavier and Rubu's public kissing embarrasses Annie, who assumes Jai expects the same from her but refuses that. Trey promises incredulous remedial class rowdies proof. Donna tricks Irene to miss Lou's funeral and sneers that will help her testament contesting case.

Geoff's return on the team is a success, even the rivalry with Aden seems healthy now. At Irene's, Claudia's moving in with Geoff still causes constant bickering over things like closet-space. That may however improve now Alf tells Aden that Roman wants him to take over the house's lease, as Aden asks Belle to move in with him there. Irene finally thanks Angelo, while Donna scolds him as if somehow her accomplice to steal Lou's inheritance. I order to prove himself a sex-stud to Gonk's dubious schoolmates, Trey has sneakily taken Jai's camera to record himself in bed ...

Jay discovers the sex scenes Trey failed to delete from his camera's back-up memory card. He follows Xavier's advice and asks Nicole, suddenly realizing she didn't know. Both boys confront Trey, who convinces them it was an accidental recording and to let him 'destroy it'. Angelo keeps an open mind about Irene's theories that Donna must be Lou's killer and is framing her. Donna's P.I.'s last pictures, delivered to Irene because Donna stopped paying him, prove to Angelo he and Donna knew where Lou was.

Now the prawn trailer has been sunk, Angelo expertly investigates Ireen's theory that Donna is the culprit. Don Gibson hears that Aden, now unemployed, is broke and sends a loan-shark over. After Ruby betrayed Trey's recording to hot-head lover Nicole, she dumps him and seeks comfort in Geoff's arms. That makes Trey so jealous he switches the remaining recording with Jai's movie in Colleen's inaugural Sumner bay Film Festival. Ultimately a search produces the presumed murder weapon, so Donna is arrested.

Geoff overhears Claudia talking to Lacchie, who later calls by and points out 'the math' suggests he is far more likely to by her baby's father. Angelo is horrified when Chatrlie blurts out the Jack drama to May, but delighted when she sweetly says to see no reason to blame him and admire his courage to accept permanent posting in Summer Bay again. After Trey exposed Nicole's slutty behavior at the film festival, everyone acts as if she were an 'innocent, vulnerable victim'. Even step-dad John Plamer wants Trey to apologize in school assembly, which Nicole accepts ...

Geoff doesn't get a change to come to terms with Lachie possibly being the baby's father, for the fiend comes bother him and Claudia while he and his Aussie Footie mates threaten to beat up Geoff. Tony and Rachel host a dinner party with Hugo, Miles and partners, which proves a bit of an emotional minefield, but goes well.

For once, Hugo stands by Xavier when Charlie wants him to oppose kid brother having sex with Ruby. Tony is upset having seen Hugo kiss Martha, but soon comes to accept, like Alf, they deserve to be happy again after Jack's death, but the fickle girl dumps Hugo anyway. Aden still hasn't got another regular job, so he's tempted by the loan shark's offer to pay for info on the team.

Angelo is happily back with may and convinces Charlie to get off Xavier and Ruby's case. The birthday party becomes a disaster as Ruby now blames Xavier because people know about their intimate plans. Nicole meanly refuses to listen to Trey, who is absurdly evicted, blamed for spiking the punch. Jai looses his patience with prudish Annie's paranoia and gets dumped for suggesting a relationship isn't just about the girl. After Charlie admits she was jealous of May, Angelo and she kiss again.

Lachie repeats his threats to hurt undaunted Geoff badly during the Aussie football match. Angelo asks Charlie whether seducing him into bed means the're a couple again, and concludes from her evasive response she's not worth dumping May. The bookie-loan shark convinces Aden, whose engagement-ring he holds as security, to throw away the first ball, not the match, to defeat a foul-play betting client.

Lachie's mean tackle on Geoff ultimately left him badly hurt, probably crippled or paraplegic for life. To Geoff's saintly controlled horror, Claudia irrationally blames him, sits at Lachie's bedside and comes up with a crushing statement. The bookie-loan shark tells Aden the accident undid all deals, so they'll have to come to another 'arrangement'. While the whole school keeps treating Nicole as the innocent victim, Trey's pa John cruelly adds to his public humiliation by dragging him onto the podium to apologize in assembly. Jai disappoints Miles by starting a ...

Disgusted by Claudia's lie he was the father of Lachie's baby, Geoff wants nothing more to do with her. When Irene points out she might still get an abortion, she's allowed to remain as a lodger till further notice. Hugo takes Xavier along on a drive, but they get lost in the middle of nowhere with only Alf's vague indications. Hugo lets Xavier try driving, but just then a cop car arrives. Miles wants another baby, Kirstie must consider whether to stop taking the pill although she's still daunted by the downside.

Angelo stops and fines the Austin brothers because Xavier drove without any license. Still feeling Angelo should be the one to get punished after jack's death, the feisty knave taunts the cop with public rudeness. Schoolmates feeling sorry for dumpee Jai 'provide' him a porn magazine, which causes additional trouble with Miles, still angry over the Trey assembly incident, and Annie, who took Irene's advice to give her lover another chance. Hugo catches Xavier slashing Angelo's cop car ties, but is the one holding the knife when Angelo arrives.

Out at Martha's farm, Xavier and Jai find Bruce Campbell's old shot gun. Intrigued by the find the boys start taking pot shots at different commodities. Irene learns that Lou's fishing trawler is in financial difficulty. Angelo gets a tip off about abalone racket, and instantly thinks Hugo must be linked.

Jai and Xavier's foolishness has dire consequences out at the farm. Xavier accidentally shoots Jai in the arm. Martha continues to wrestle with her feelings for Hugo. Angelo and Charlie finally get to the bottom of their complicated relationship. Charlie is jealous of Angelo's relationship with May.

Jai is still bleeding from the arm wound. They go to the hospital, but when Rachel wants to examine it they do a runner. Martha and Hugo finally acknowledge their feelings for one and another. Annie and Ruby find out about Jai and go mad at him and Xavier for being so careless.

Aden struggles with bookie, Clint's demands to lose the next football match. John tries getting Trey back on the trek, but Martin tells him it's down to Nicole, whether he can go or not.

Geoff tells Tony that Aden has been involved with bookie and that's why Aden mucked up the last football match. Colleen's imagination works overtime again. Miles buys a book on babies infuriating Kirsty. After some thinking Nicole tells Martin that Trey should be allowed on the trek.

Belle proposal's is accepted by Aden = there getting married. Irene has no choice but to wind the fishing trawler. Rachel persuades Tony to forgive Aden and let him back on the football team.

Angelo finally gathers the courage to dump May, but she's still deeply hurt when finding out he's dating Charlie. Despite his past in that country, Hugo is little help trying to communicate with a confused drifter from Indonesia, who calls himself Clint Eastwood and runs from hospital. Being unable to prevent a couple losing their baby makes Rachel focus on her. Belle still wines being unable to track down her dad fro the hasty wedding, instead if telling Aden the truth.

May breaks up with Angelo and leaves. Miles excitedly goes around the town telling everyone who will listen about his and Kirsty's baby plans, Kirsty admits to Leah that she's having fears. Angelo continues to pursue Hugo.

Martha and Hugo announce their relationship, leaving Colleen furious. Geoff snaps at Ollie as Irene arrives home. Trey makes peace with Nicole attends the trek. Ruby tries to play cupid between Jai and Annie.

Martha is upset by Colleen's reaction to her and Hugo. The desperate search begins for Jai and Annie - Martin and Miles arrive just in time. Trey prepares to unleash his explosive revenge - blowing the coach with everybody on board.

Geoff sets out to find the gun the knaves hid on grandpa's farm, Aneglo resumes his contraband investigation. Trey leaves into the bush after telling the hikers that after Nicole turned on him he planted a motion sensor-triggered bomb in the bus they just mounted. Initially incredulous John, a Navy veteran, learns from Trey's notebook how much he's hated by his step-son and that the bomb design is frightfully good. Only after Jai is diagnosed in hospital with a killer infection, Martin and Miles start worrying Palmer didn't phone the school as agreed.

Martha and Hugo find out about the bomb under the bus and must defuse it before the timer runs out.

Angelo proves to be fair even to taunting scamp Xavier by first warning him to be in time for his court hearing, and after the knave misses it without even calling convincing the judge to allow a delay on compassionate grounds. Hugo's final diagnosis is still not in, but the bus bomb hero now gets general sympathy. Trey's ma has helped him escape to the city after all, but Angelo already starts seeing trough her lies. After Kirstie gathers the courage to tell Miles she's not ready for another child and wants to finish her studies, he accepts both.

Aden, Gibsy, Tony and Alf attend Aden's stag night at the Surf club. Rachel throws Belle a hen party. Belle learns from Rachel that her cancer is spreading rapidly.

After the bachelor party, groom Aden has a killer headache, but nobody makes a fuss. Tony arrives timely in hospital to morally Rachel. She feels guilty for neglecting bed-rest while pregnant, but ultimately gives him a healthy boy, Harry. Belle convinces Aden to take an extremely unorthodox 'best man' because Roman is still in jail: man-eater Nicole. When she catches ex-addict Belle taking pills, she learns about the bride's terminal tumor.

Wedding guests Ryan and pregnant Amanda already arrive, bearing honeymoon tickets as welcome wedding gift. Meanwhile Nicole doesn't feel it's right to keep Belle's morbid secret from groom Aden or betray the bride and therefore won't be 'best man' loco Roman. Geoff and finding Belle collapsed make her reconsider. Then she betrays the secret, which Aden can't handle.

After several glitches Aden and Belle finally tie the knot. At the wedding reception, Ruby tells Charlie that she doesn't think she should tell their dad and Morag about her relationship with Angelo. Later, when Angelo plans to take Charlie out for a romantic boat ride, she isn't so sure it's a good idea. Taking a step back, Charlie steps into the path of an oncoming car and is knocked to the ground.

Rachel struggles looking after Harry, whereas, Tony is a natural. Ruby tells Morag and Ross why Angelo was with Charlie when she had her accident. Martha defends her relationship with Hugo to Morag.

Workaholic Sid Walker arrives in Summer Bay with his kids, positive Dexter and wining daughter Indigo. But the new start for the family fails as his wife takes a cellphone call as proof of new infidelity and returns to the city, leaving him stranded with the kids. Dexter meets friendly Xavier at the pool-table, Indigo rudely walks off. Trey is back and calls his ma (while step-dad is badmouthing him to Alf in hospital), but is scared off. Rachel faces a hospital hearing, and as that doesn't satisfy the Avent couple a trial, because nurse Julie backs up their claim her...

Trey tries to kill John, but is stopped by Kirsty. Nicole confides in Geoff. Belle tells Nicole more information about her condition, but Nicole has to promise to be secretive.

Colleen gossips to Leah and Kirsty about the Walker family. Nicole gets intoxicated yet again and Sid drops her home. Also, Belle and Aden return early from their honeymoon.

Xavier finally gets to go all the way with lover Ruby, but she chose the worst possible day to sneak into the farm bedroom: they are found by Ross, who initially threatens with jail, and Hugo, who threatens a lecture. Geoff tries hard to stop Nicole drinking at another party, but can't prevent her getting arrested, drunk. Angelo tells Charlie he can't believe she'll ever commit to him with true loving dedication, so she's dumped.

Hugo accepts gingerly to return to the farm for love-making, despite the nude Xavier-incident. Morag overhears Charlie insists Ross keeps her secret concerning some pregnancy, which Sid Walker's examination nearly betrayed to Ruby, and broaches the subject, which proves even more tender. Rex Avent accepts the hospital procedure review and sincerely apologizes to Rachel and Tony, who is relieved, but Rachel believes Jane came to rub in they has living baby Harry.

Charlie finally tells the family her baby trauma and only Angelo that it was rape. He un-dumps her because she finally opened up. Ross however tells Morag he remembers the baby was adopted, not deceased. Tony finally gets Rachel to let him take baby Harry on a long walk, so she can get proper rest. Jane is found lurking around and scolds Rachel an unworthy mother. Kirstie brings Justin's student group home, but even Miles looses patience with the noise and drinking as the resident kids can't actually study upstairs.

After staking Hugo's boat, Angelo calls off that suspect theory till further notice. Don Gibson calmed his accomplice squirt, who nearly gave their smuggle away arriving with a nocturnal catch. Aden's character testimony gets Gibson off the hook despite Hugo's suspicions. Belle's condition worsens fast, so she makes Nicole promise, during a girls fun day on the beach, to look after Aden after her death and assemble everyone soon. Alf convinces Miles to accommodate Kirstie's student friends.

Nicole struggles with what's happening to Belle. Amanda tries to take charge and admit Belle to hospital much to Aden's disapproval. Belle's condition deteriorates and she dies in Aden's arms at Irene's house.

It's the day of Belle's funeral. Irene reads a moving speech about Belle. Alf and Colleen tell Aden they're for him. Dexter comforts Annie. Geoff and Liam fight outside the church which has to be broken up.

Charlie finally tells Ruby the truth - that she is her daughter. Sid helps out Nicole by telling Miles that she stayed there the night before, unbeknown to Miles that Nicole stayed with Liam. Morag tries to help Aden but he throws her out and tells her that he doesn't need her wise words.

Xavier is unable, even to startled himself, to prevent Ruby being refused, after consideration, permission to move in at the farm. Geoff lets her stay with Annie, so they both get the full story. Angelo tries to calm down the Buxton family while resuming his sea poaching investigation, reconsidering the Indonesian "Clint" link. Hugo sets a trap for Gibson by placing an order, but gets distracted by the Ruby histrionics. Tony graciously accepts Rex Avent's apologies for his wife's continuous obsessive lurking and earlier jealous scolding.

Following her run-in with Charlie, Ruby spends the night at Irene's. Annie tries to offer Ruby some support and even suggests she come to church with her. Realising that everyone's still in a state over Belle's death, Ruby apologises for being a burden and says she's going to catch a bus into the city as she can't stay in Summer Bay. While driving to the city, Geoff and Ruby's car runs out of petrol. Angelo continues to run inquiries about the abalone. Martha and Hugo babysit Harry for Tony and Rachel but he goes missing on their watch.

When Geoff and Ruby get car trouble, they consider that might be a sign to return home, but they decide to continue driving to the city. Babysitters Hugo and Martha discover baby Harry has disappeared, probably kidnapped. Rachel rages at Tony for staying calm, and tells the police it must be the Avents' doing, but the indignant couple have to put up with searches and questioning. Hugo still hasn't told Angelo about the trap for Gibson, and now decides to, but has waited too long and is arrested. He is subsequently released because a security camera proves he made the ...

Angelo organizes a raid on Gibson's boat, but Hugo has tipped off Aden and practically dragged him away to prevent the grieving drunk idiot getting himself arrested, yet gets little gratitude. Tony refuses to believe he's loosing another son. While handing out missing fliers, Rachel accidentally discovers Jane Avent rented a place under her name, to hide baby Jack behind husband Tex's back.

Aden continues to struggle without Belle and makes a decision he could regret, Miles becomes increasingly frustrated that Kirsty's uni work is taking up so much of her time and Annie accidentally disappoints Dexter.

Ruby wants answers from auntie Michelle about her contraception. Miles moans to Leah about Kirsty always doing her studies and not doing anything around the house. Charlie and Ross bicker again.

Ross goes missing but turns up on Rachel's doorstep. Irene let's Ruby move in, whilst Xavier is desperate to sort things out between them. Jai is worried about Annie's blossoming friendship with Dexter Walker.

Ruby accepts Geoff' advice to ask Charlie about, but Ross accidentally let's slip his surname, so a yearbook points to Grand Bledsoe. Hvaing physically assaulted Morag, Ross decides it's time to move to a full-care home. Nicole informs Aden she is the new owner of the townhouse. Aden won't discuss his suspicion Nicole wants to chuck him out, decides to move out and takes his frustrations out on Alf and Nicole. Sid rebukes Nicole's comment on him 'dating' -which he denies- nurse Therese.

Amanda arrives in the town for Belle and Aden's wedding. Irene and Colleen have funny chat about Colleen's Les. Belle finally plucks up the courage to tell Aden about her condition.

Hugo and Martha throw Brendan a big 21st birthday part in the Surf club. Xavier is getting jealous of Ruby and Geoff's closeness. Angelo reveals his theory to Charlie that he knows Hugo is involved in the people smuggling operation.

Gina gets a visit from a male friend called Ted. Angelo contains to try and trap Hugo, but fails miserably. Kirsty is hiding from Miles that she is pregnant. Hugo convinces Gina to go on the holiday with Ted, as he, Xavier and Martha will look after Brendan.

Xavier doubts Jai's confidence a website for Annie will win her back. In facts she's secretly kissing Dexter. Rachel is aloof to poor Tony, who feels excluded now she's excessively protective of baby Harry, so he arranges part-time coaching with Alf. Rachel meets Andy and Sophia McLeod trough Lorna's mothers group and bonds with the fellow young parents. Jai finds Kirstie's pregnancy test and informs Miles.

Just when Jai comes show Annie the website he made for her, he sees her kiss Dex, so all three feel miserable. Although Dex tries to make them see reason, both others now avoid each-other and him. Kirstie's cold claim their relationship is too shaky to keep the baby shock Miles, he even starts neglecting school duties. Geoff and Charlie smell a rat only after going through her Internet research printouts about Ruby's visit to the city. She's actually at her biological father Grant Bledcoe's home, where she meets his happy wife and two kids. There she bluntly reveals herself to be his daughter and is thrown out. After seeing Nicole kiss her father and being turned away for a drink by Alf, Indi joins Brad's dodge gang's party. There she smokes pot until a bad fall on a glass table, so the boys anonymously drop her in hospital but she refuses to be patched up by her father.

Grant plays Ruby and Charlie off against each other. Annie is sad to see Dexter leave town. Nicole tries to heal the rift between her Indigo but to no avail.

Xavier suggests Jai should give up courting Annie, but he gets her to become 'just friends again'. But even this is undone when she refuses to look at the website he made for her. Jai had to 'borrow' her camera to get her recent beach pictures, but it broke so he took it over to Xavier's, where later Brendan apparently repaired it all alone. Aden scolds Morgan for arranging for him to be asked to help out on the farm, then changes his mind and suddenly breaks down.

Xavier and Ruby reach better understanding between themselves. Charlie decides to get vengeance on Grant - to teach him a lesson once-and-for-all. Also, Geoff makes a important decision.

Angelo confiscates constable Avery's illegal taser and tries hard to prevent vindictive hot-head Charlie's harassment of Grant and his thus break up-threatened family but she's completely irrational, even suggesting his reason be disloyal. Hugo buys a worthless boat to sink, in order to organize wreck diving, but needs council permission and candidate John Palmer strongly opposes the plan. Kirstie is finally home again because Oliver is sick and finally promises Miles to keep their baby. Grant asks Ruby to help make Charlie see reason. Nicole steals a kiss from ...

To Hugo's fury, John Palmer won't hear of his 'ecologically and economically insane' wreck project, and he's running for the council. While Grant's wife assures Ruby he isn't nearly as bad as Charlie claims, big sis finds and works on another alleged rape victim and tricks Grant to a 'reconcialiation' meeting, only to physically eliminate him. Nicole has booked a resort luxury package for her and Sid without consulting him.

Xavier saw Grant leave in Charlie's car, Angelo goes looking for them. Geoff finds Aden won't even consider working on Irene's trawler and for days has sneakily crept in to sleep in Belle's bed. He unknowingly inspires Ruby to find Charlie in a cabin, sten-gun-torturing Grant into 'confessing' serial rape. Unable to take sense into Charlie, she loosens his rope. When Charlie catches them, a weird stalemate leads to Grant leaving Summer Bay indefinitely.

Liam's cab brings to Summer Bay the handsome, slick surfer Romeo Smith, who immediately starts charming and flirting cockily and cutely. Geoff's first attempt to get Aden to teach him the trawler fisherman's trade is rudely rejected. When Aden changes his mind, he only demonstrates the problematic limits of his motor mechanics skills and unwillingness to consult the manual. In the end, 'dumb Bible boy' Geoff saves Aden's life and harvests unspoken recognition. Tony helps Rachel babysit troublesome Sophie. Romeo tells Miles he's looking for his kid brother- Jai!

Romeo explains he started calling Jai his kid brother when they bonded in a foster home. Miles agrees to let him stay in the house indefinitely. Sirene Nicole invites herself to Sid's pool. Rachel discovers why Sophie causes Andy such difficulties: she must be deaf. Tony finally puts his foot down, if she leaves him alone again harry stays with him. Rachel apologizes for neglecting and excluding him.

Detective Robertson keeps stunning everyone with his mix of charm, apparent innocence and joy de vivre, erudition and ruthless observation, making even Leah and Ross help more then they realize. Liam decides, after checking Aden won't get enraged again, to buy a run-down home with room for a yet undetermined business in Summer Bay and employs the enterprising Romeo to help him renovate it. Tony is finally happy again, minding baby Harry better then Rachel.

Miles proudly tells everyone about the pregnancy, but Kirstie wanted to wait and calls the baby a mistake. Nicole refuses to believe Liam has bettered his life, Aden hits hum a bloody nose. Martin has decided to take his long service leave, so Miles is asked as acting principal by the department, but isn't fit or interested. Tony however is eager to fill in as science teacher and suggests his sister Gina as acting principal. Ruby hesitates whether to dump Xavier again if he overcomes his amnesia.

Romeo is happy Liam won't need him much, believing he has a shot at a tourism dream-shot, but John Palmer is in charge so the interview in the surf-club looks far from promising. Jai desperately wants him to stay, although Annie remains semi-hostile. Robert Robertson invites Leah for a date and manages to drive Charlie away using vague surveillance photos of him at a club in the city. Whe Morag tries to scare him off, he just retorts she's a serious suspect herself.

Angelo can't convince Charlie he only kept from her what he had to for his undercover work and asks his boss to be relieved, but is told that would mean no deal or job and a murder charge. Robertson keeps pushing hard in Grant's murder investigation and for a date with Leah, ultimately telling her honesty appeals most to him. Romeo fears the surf instructor job won't be his, but after Alf says John Palmer is as rude to everybody tries a daring "I'm the best" sales technique and gets it. Miles doubts if Romeo's poetry will get Jai's lover back. Even Irene looses ...

Romeo gives a brilliant first surfing-lesson. Utterly klutzy bumbler Annie meanly threatens to endanger his job, still on trial-basis, yet his studly charms probably win her over so she changes her mind about dropping out. Hugo feels the sunken boat-plan isn't worth the death-treats they attribute to Palmer, as someone uses his campaign prints for it, but Martha lies to the buyer he found Hugo no longer wants to sell and decides to stand in the election against John. Miles's logic that parents should marry seems to work adversely on Kirstie.

Liam refuses to take the black-eye Aden beat him hard, unlike Nicole, who confesses her affair with Sid. Martin doubts whether he can stick out his job until the end of the exams. Gina's interview thus is delayed, but seems a way to get his physics course out of the way, and she has experience as a principal. Another verbal clash with John palmer convinces Martha to stand against him in the council election, but Hugoand Morag soon s make clear that's far harder then she imagines, and may well render his tragic secret public.

Xavier is recovered and back at school, now a place of horror as strict ma has accepted the interim principal job. Ruby further drags Xavier into her plan to provide Charlie with a fake alibi. Angelo remains cruelly ignored by Charlie, whose suspension is now revoked by detective Robertson, who hints that suits him while he isn't fooled. HUgo warns a campaign debate is both necessary and risky for each candidate.

Romeo keeps appearing, even stripping and skinny-diving, in Annie's dreams, while Ruby's are filled with Geoff and Xavier, as they confide in each-other. Robertson takes Angelo and Charlie on a patrol, officially to stake-out the fish market, near to which Grant was killed, 'probably by one of you'. After disclosing his inseparable teddy-bear is a covert listening device, the detective forces the pair to face their future depends on trust, which only Angelo has, until Robertson produces pictures showing he really was just doing undercover work. Geoff and Aden go trough the trawler's long-neglected paperwork. Liam not only makes up with Nicole, but as everyone disapproves she gets back on kissing terms. Baby Harry's condition finally gives Tony hope Rachel will realize she has to back down, according to Leah even seek help for post-natal depression. Just when Miles is ready to accept Alf's advice not to press Kirstie for marriage, she decides to agree after all.

Charlie cruelly keeps refusing to get back with Angelo because she 'can't handle trust issues now', so he ends up telling her after hours is undercover night job concerns an network thats smuggles humans, such as the shark-devoured Indonesian and his relative who escaped, and Hugo is his prime suspect. Geoff assures Xavier he won't move in on Ruby. Nicole enjoys Liam's courting, so they end up caught half-undressed in front of Miles, who decides against lecturing her as Kirstie proposes.

Angelo explains in detail to incredulous Charlie his theory that Hugo is the only logical prime suspect, but she starts helping to check on him. Robert warns Hugo a big brother must prevent a knave in love like Xavier risking up to 5 years in juvenile for being seduced to provide a fake alibi. Ross refuses to tell Morag why he won't return to his home until he has discussed something with Charlie he won't tell even his wife. John accepts a debate and expect Martha to chicken out after 'someone' posted pictures of her pole-dancing past, but Hugo convinces her to retort...

Romeo stops Jai from revealing he's the poet too soon, while Roby tries to help Annie unmask her mystery admirer. But after showing no interest during surf class, Romeo makes a move himself. Hugo, her family and Robertson weigh heavily on Xavier and Ruby to give up the obviously fake alibi they gave Charlie, but she again seduces Xavier to stick to the story. Robertson and Leah enjoy a beach picnic.

Romeo's surfing lessons seem to cause mutual sexual attraction with Annie, while he tells Jai to wait, even when he knows she presumes him to mystery poet. Miles can't get Jai or Annie enthusiastic to strive as finalist for the Japan exchange student program, as neither feels like leaving a longed-for lover behind. Tony isn't pleased Rachel wants to resume her stressful job full-time on time of motherhood.

Rachel informs Tony that she wants to go back to work - Tony isn't too happy. Martha talks to Tony to make him understand the problem more clearly. Liam writes Nicole a song after confiding in her about his ex-wife and son. Aden and Geoff bicker over their duties on the trawler. Gina meets John Palmer for the first time and instantly sparks fly between them.

Robert Robertson finally convinces Xavier it's better to confess selfish Ruby made him fake Charlie's alibi. Geoff realizes Aden is jealous about Liam and Nicole. The electoral debate preparations continue bitterly, with Gina drawn to both sides.

After Robertson scared Xavier into admitting Ruby made him support Charlie's false alibi, the poor knave first feels guilty, but finally realizes after pure abuse from Ruby she used him selfishly and lovelessly. Geoff makes up with Ruby. Angelo must watch and even assist worried sick while Robertson squeezes till Ruby admits her lies, searches her and Ross's homes and finally makes an arrest. At the debate, the crowd ignores Palmer's warning Martha's plans will mean more taxes without growth as she promises to spend more, without developing the marina, on social and ...

Robertson masterly stages charging Charlie with Grat's murder and Ruby as accomplice, forcing Ross to come forward and confess he's the real murderer, albeit without premeditation. Wishing Leah and Angelo well, he leaves to the city. Scolded a tease like the others, Romeo openly vows to make seducing her non-stop his mission.

Romeo rides the waves of Annie's fickle attitude during and after his surf class, but finds he's too late to confess to Jai he fell in love with her. Meanwhile she decides to opt out of the Japanese exchange student program, which makes Jai accept after all, mainly to get away from both of them. Tony struggles on to mind baby Harry alone while on gym duty, but is exhausted when Rachel returns home after enjoying work again.

Liam's yoga on the beach surprises Nicole, who calls it pretentious but joins in and enjoys it. After another verbal attack from Aden, she asks 'her boys' make up. That only works after Tony suggests faking a friendship, as Liam offers spontaneously. Tony is near exhaustion when gym employee Jimmy bails out second day in a row. So Miles's offer to babysit as parenthood practice is most welcome. After hours of frustration his gorilla impression does the trick, but back at Tony's Kirstie, who never showed interest of confidence, faints.

Watson, Clayton (I) Grant Bledcoe ) Although flat out again during a storm, Angelo acts as soon as possible on Hugo's missing schooner, joining him to check if it's the one spotted half-sunk on the uninhabited island reef where Geoff saved Nicole. Miles, host Tony and Rachel are worried and puzzled by pregnant Kirstie's collapse. Dr. Derek Young's initial tests are encouraging, and food poisoning practically ruled out despite the diner's freezer troubles as no other guests have complaints. Alas the less obvious meningitis test comes too late for Miles's baby.

The comedy of errors over the japan exchange program continues as Annie keeps lying even to Geoff. In the end, Romeo redeems himself with Jai by arranging for him and Annie to go. Aden grabs his change to attack Liam again when she misses the first of her 6 HSC exams, actually just 20 minutes but leaves totally distracted. Liam still takes the blame and proposes a break. .

Xavier finally dumps ingrate Ruby, despite her lame lie to be glad he owed up to Robertson, yet feels miserable. Geoff commiserates with Ruby now Jai, Anie and Irene are in Japan. Thus he notices her caesura in time to be diagnosed as previously undetected diabetes. Alf tells Aden Palmer's marina plan would eliminate fishing trawler slots, John promises to keep one if that's kept secret until the election. 'Dumped' Liam is surprised Nicole remains jealous.

After Xavier tells how he broke up with Ruby and Romeo how he made up with Jai by arranging for Annie to join him on Japanese exchange, both lonely knaves team up. They accept some girls' dare to check out the abandoned Becket home, where the youngest son, still missing, may have murdered the rest of the family. Geoff succumbs to temptress Ruby by kissing her. Inside, they find a shivering Indonesian boy. After a bitter electoral campaign, Palmer wins the seat.

Xavier and Romeo return to the 'ghost home', although sealed-off, to retrieve Bambang's backpack. Angelo confiscates them for examination, and even the indignant boy's 'cuddly' rag-doll, which actually turns out to contain a coded message. Geoff wants to make public he's now Ruby's lover. Hugo manages to convince Martha they can't properly take care of the kid, so she revokes her foster parenthood application. For once, Colleen's unrequested opinion, that Kirstie needs her ma, works out well.

Kirsty is still struggling to keep it together after her miscarriage. Colleen suggests to Miles and Alf that she needs her mother. Miles rings Shelley Sutherland who arrives in the bay. Hugo argues with Martha over Bambang, but what is his real motive for the argument.

After the 'ghost house' episode and kissing one of them to make Ruby jealous, Xavier still wants to help the girls organize a Halloween party. Romeo grudgingly accepts to betray Liam's trust by allowing it in his home, but the rock musician is home early, with his bass player, whom he catches being stoned and spiking a girl's drink, which Romeo inadvertently swallows. Aden jealously blames Liam again, although he cut down meeting Nicole to once a week, at least until after her exams. Miles thinks inviting her ma helped Kirstie, but she actually prepares to sneakily ...

Romeo is saved after Aden brings him to hospital. Both rage at Liam for failing to call an ambulance, fearing bad publicity. Romeo makes up the next morning, revealing he never was even tipsy before, having 'learned a lesson' young. Nicole accepts Liam's apologies and takes his side against unforgiving Aden. New councilor John Palmer uses a school subsidy to get dates with Gina, but she dumps him after overhearing his abusive way of firing poor Romeo for one surfing class cancellation. Miles finds Kirstie's dear John letter.

Geoff and Ruby have a hard time squaring his genuine concern for her health and her teenage 'independence' pride, but a picnic seems to do the trick. A serial number from something in the smugglers' wreck finally provides Angelo a probable link with Hugo trough an import firm. Tony is not amused that sister Gina gives Palmer another chance, actually after just claiming Romeo declined getting his surf instructor job back. HUgo is even less amused that because Bambang doesn't fit well in another foster family Martha reneged on their agreement. But he has another problem...

Hugo gets flack from everywhere after Indonesian Suzy has revealed herself as his wife. Angelo spies a chance to corner Hugo in the refugee smuggle. He even manages to catch him out on a major inconsistency in his story when he recognizes the a picture of the man who attacked Geoff and Nicole on the desolate island as part of the gang.

Romeo scolds Xavier for leaving him alone in the party without even noticing his seizure, yet as a good friend tells about Gina dating Palmer, whom he firmly refuses to work for ever again. Xavier tells ma town devil John is too much embarrassment on top of her as principal and doubts her feeble claim Palmer is just a friend. Angelo's team sees Bambang and Martha's return with the Austins as an opportunity to get to Hugo, but realizes the boy may be at risk. Indeed, the island fiend lurks around until he can snatch the 'risk' kid up, but Angelo is reedy to arrest him....

Angelo questions Derrick Quaid, who is formally identified as the island fiend, but coldly keeps denying any part in the drowning case. Hugo's part remains uncertain and completely unproven. Liam finds his new house so badly damaged that he can't live in it without repairs he can't afford. So he moves in temporarily at Nicole's, to house-mate and rival Aden's open fury. Miles grimly gives up hope for Kirstie to return with Ollie.

Although worried sick about "Irene's" harbor spot, Geoff patiently finds a modus vivendi for Ruby's diabetes at home. After she neglects to eat lunch, Miles rushes her to hospital and Charlie starts nagging and fussing. VJ is among the bullying victims of a gang included Gonk. Miles ignores it's VJ who bombards his car with water balloons. Aden pretends he can't stay in the same house as 'slob' Liam, but Nicole takes that as Aden's goodbye.

Geoff's fear proves right over Aden's confidence: their fishing boat is losing its harbor rights, which leaves them unemployed again. Aden must swallow his pride and ask to move in with Nicole and Liam as he can barely afford her mates rate. Romeo helps Miles discover VJ was the balloon culprit, but it's because he's bullied by Ryan Gonk's gang. Miles is rudely told to mind his own business by Gonk's dad Ian. Tony can no longer hide his gym is in financial trouble. Charlie keeps bugging Ruby, even decides to move in with Geoff and her until Irene returns from Japan ...

Miles was badly beaten up by a gang who first threw a towel over his head. Romeo cleverly notices VJ knows more and manages, as virtual big brother, to get him to tell it's bully Ryan, the son of rowdy fisherman Ian Radcliffe. Aden tries to outdo Liam as domestic slob, witnesses how his guitar students only came to flirt in vain and flirts himself with Nicole on the beach, so she misses the exams end dinner Liam cooked.

Charlie informs Miles, that Ian Radcliffe is pressing charges against him for assault. Nicole and Liam reach an understanding in their relationship. Geoff and Ruby struggle to find the moment to sleep together. Irene arrives back from Japan.

Irene is astonished when Donna turns up at her house, prompting Charlie and Angelo to reinvestigate Lou's murder, while Martha and Hugo realise they're being watched.

Hearing Xavier stood by Romeo's refusal not to reconsider working for John Palmer again, Gina meanly decides to invite him for a home dinner. As Xavier failed to tell Alia and Risie he's interested in neither, both rivals turn up and join the dinner, bickering until wine gets spilled. Hugo stops Martha's irate raging at him and the police on Bambang's safety's account by signing over his half of the Indonesian firm to Suzy. Although Donna gets drunk on her couch again, Irene convinces AQden to return the trawler to her so she can make a fresh start.

Ian tells Miles he wants $10,000 to keep quiet overwise he will tell the media that Miles beat Riley up. Xavier confides in Tony that he is worried that John will hurt Gina, Tony reassures him. Tony struggles to keep the afloat and voices his concerns.

Xavier tells his mother that he acts so protective of her because he remembers hearing her cry herself to sleep when he was a young boy. He makes up and even agrees to 'apologize' to John who haughtily accepts 'although we don't need your blessing'. Romeo however stands by his principles, warns Xavier about bad boy-friends given his own unmentionable experience. He realizes his job-hunt is desperate without a diploma, so he seriously considers Gina's idea that he can still finish high-school. Now Ian's blackmail seems the only way to prevent his world crashing down, ...

Aden's boss blackmails him to take his daughter to the year 12 formal. Liam wants to sleep with Nicole, but she doesn't want to which causes tension between the pair of them. Leah and Miles finally learn the truth about Riley's injuries.

Nicole struggles with Liam's declaration that he loves her. Aden, Nicole and Miles go to the Year 12 Formal, but Aden can't hack it when he keeps seeing Belle. Suzy comes back into Hugo's life, much to his annoyance.

Martha is devastated when Hugo breaks up with her. Tony arrives at the gym to find it trashed. Geoff and Ruby interrupt an intruder at Donna De Bono's house.

Romeo tries to coach Xavier in dumping girls, a weird sight Palmer leaves uncommented on his way to tell Tony he sees an alternative to selling the gym. Angelo comes check-out Lou's villa, but just fails to catch the intruder who paid off gardener Cardillo. He guesses it may be Hugo, who refuses to account for his whereabouts, being preoccupied with Martha's refusal to accept being dumped for her own good.

Angelo cleverly picks a fight with Hugo, who decides against filing a complaint, so he can collect a blood sample from Hugo's cut lip. Angelo sends it to his secret superior Bill Stevens, who allegedly demands his badge. Tony leans to accepting a 75% of the gym sale to Palmer, but dislikes his self-righteous planning. Hugo books a flight to Argentina. Witness Orson Cardillo is found unconscious besides his car.

Geoff and Ruby try again to make out, but are scared by every noise. Nicole once more refuses to admit her large part in the failure of her relationship with Liam, which both agree is over. Aden is fired from the uniformed Sands resort valet job he hated anyway, on account of the boss's abusive daughters' pranks. VJ enjoys substitute-father Miles's intervention pro 'boyish' DVD.

Just fired, Aden takes the boss' car for a wild ride along the coast with Nicole, culminating in a skinny dive, then rushes back for a job opportunity. But the police notices Poppy's car, reported stolen, so the pass a night bickering in jail but end up kissing. Leah enjoys the company of handsome Muslim handyman Hazem, who cheerfully helps her with the Christmas party decorations, so he's invited, Miles put in his place. Bambang's first music lesson with Liam is interrupted after dope falls out of his guitar, but resumed on the farm.

The Christmas party is a blast, despite Palmer saying Hazem is a crook like all tradesmen. Xavier is anxious now his memory starts returning and most furious in the family now Hugo announces his emigration, saying he can do without empty promises to keep contact. On police chief Stevens's orders, key witness Derrick Quaid is transported back for further questioning. But a cop turns on the guards to arrange his escape, which he fears to be a murder pretext. Desperately lonely Miles drinks too much.
