Gone is the slicing wit. Gone are the keen cultural references and the smarty-pants social jabs the Palladinos easily wove into each episode.

The current Sherman-Palladino-less, death-blow season was more accurately Gilmore Ghosts, as the exhausted actors bumped into the furniture searching for their departed souls and smart punchlines.

It ended as it began, which is to say, almost perfectly.
