Alan takes a way Hugo and Jack's cash box to control costs and issues them with a credit card each; much to their horror. But they soon get the hang of it; much to Alan's horror.

Alan decides that selling to the public directly on site is the way forward, that means getting rid of Jack and Hugo's private cinema downstairs. Griselda's parents have been informed that she has a 'job' and is contemplating a 'career'.

Griselda fears that the efficient and attractive shop manager Alan has hired is competition for her. Hugo and Jack fear that they will actually have to do some work now that she's arrived.

Hugo is besotted with Mrs Gosling and even avoids parties and comes to work to be with her. Jack is bereft without his partner in luncheon. What can he do about it?

Hugo and Jack offer a job to the son of a friend while they are under the influence of a party. Alan isn't keen but a promise is a promise and nobody said what kind of job it had to be.

Alan is unwell and at the end of his tether with Hugo and Jack; he wants to leave. But this means the bank will likely call in the loan and it will all be over for the family business. What can Hugo, Jack and Griselda do to change his mind?
