Tan Sun, son of a blacksmith, cultivates his powers in private and takes care of his father. An attack by a spirit beast is thwarted by a traveling Soul Master who later tests Sun's soul power. Sun's father has mixed feelings.

Tang San meets other students at the school but immediately runs into prejudice against his common martial soul. One curious character has a lot of questions for Tang San. Xiao Wu beats all the boys in Dorm 7.

Xiao Wu and Tang San form a bond and cooperate with each other, much to the chagrin of Xiao ChenYu who is used to getting what he wants. Tang San consults the curious Master when the teacher says he cannot help him.

Xiao ChenYu consolidates his power with the goal of suppressing Tang San. The mysterious master offers a possible solution and along the way reveals some of his theory and understanding. Xiao ChenYu pursues them into the forest.

Xiao YuChen catches up to Xiao Wu and Tang San in the forest. The mysterious master lends a hand in the fight but gets caught. Tang San doesn't like the options he is given. Xiao Wu's admittance into the school is questioned.

Xiao ChenYu's arrogance and cruelty are repaid but the consequences put Xiao Wu, the mysterious master, Tang San and his village into danger. The master recognizes Tang Sun's father.

Tang Hong takes care of one of the problems but Tang Sun is upset that his father won't let him stay by his side. Yu XiaoGang brings Tang Sun and Xiao Wu to the only remaining option - an entrance exam for an elusive school.

A stranger threatens the inn staff but Xiao Wu, Tang San and one other girl stand up to him. After the exam they are taken to a village. An observer meets with the Headmaster. Yu XiaoGang learns of this and gets more worried.

Yu XiaoGang joins the school as a teacher to keep an eye on things. The Headmaster brings the students to a village with some unusual happenings as a test.

The search for Ma HongJun continues. Dai MuBai arrogance blinds him to the contributions of the others. The mysterious monster seems to be linked to the missing boy.

Ye Hao, the Village Leader, has been lying to them all along. Hu LieNa is curious about what they found. Ma HongJun discovers the secret of the village.

Tang San makes every effort to save Meng HongJun. Hu LieNa is interested in the concoction used on him. A new students bribes her way in but isn't impressed with the school at all.

Ning RongRong's arrogance is challenged when the Headmaster compares her to the rest of the students - ranking her near the bottom. Ou SiKe, however, is taken with her. Ma HongJun looks for someone by fighting in an arena.

Bu Le's minions try to kidnap Xiao Wu. Tang San worries about Xiao Wu's advancing poison so Yu XiaoGang and the Headmaster make a plan. A cloaked figure assigns Tang San a dangerous task.

Ou SiKe reveals his powers to the group as they hunt a beast for him to level-up. Many encounters in the forest illuminate the power structure, dynamics and even the politics of the world. The Titan Ape is searching for something.

The Titan Ape has made off with Xiao Wu and Tang San is determined to get her back - taking dangerous risks. Ning RongRong has to make a decision. Xiao Wu's secret is almost uncovered. The Titan Ape leaves reluctantly.

Tang San is able to get the antidote for Xiao Wu, but learns some devastating information in the process. Ma HongJun joins him to visit Bu Le. Yu XiaoGang's training is unusual.

Yu XiaoGang sets training to build teamwork and cooperation. He finally informs Hu LieNa about Su YunTao's death. The team faces another challenge - against Dai MuBai's brother - with the existence of the school at risk.

Skills are practiced and weaknesses are exposed as the team toughs out their various training. Hu LieNa meets her new protector. Ma HongJun displays an aptitude that impresses the Headmaster. Supports are challenged to be on the offensive.

Dai WeiShi is a formidable opponent, even for the seven outstanding students of the school. Dai MuBai leads the team in a frontal assault but Tang San soon realizes that they cannot win that way.

The Headmaster decides that they all should go to the Capital together. Along the way they find some bodies tied up out in the desert. Tang San and Xiao Wu run into a familiar figure in the first city they enter.

Even as Tang San and Xiao Wu parting ways with the other students, a sandstorm hits and splits everyone up. Wang Shang brings the team captain to meet Tang San. A beast is looking for his family.

Tang San reunites the beasts, ending the sandstorm but when Meng Li acts viciously, Tang San declares that he will defeat them and take back the city.

Tang San runs into Ye ZhiQiu after the battle and the school sets off for the Capitol. They arrive at the Imperial School to a dubious welcome.

Arriving at the Imperial School, they meet the headmaster, the Crown Prince of Tian Dou and a mysterious master of the highest level. Loyalty to their school creates complications and a reunion with a figure from the past.

Hui LieNa has a private conversation with the Crown Prince. Ou SiKe is able to perform one of his plays to earn money for the school. Tang San goes missing.

Tang San meets an enigmatic teacher from Cang Hui school and agrees with everything he says. Before performing a dangerous task, Tang San returns to his school only to find the, dueling with the Imperial school over Xiao Wu.

Tang San discovers a special gift that his mother left - just for him.

Xiao Wu is confused about her feelings so RongRong makes a suggestion. Ning RongRong is kidnapped from the school and locked away but her father still helps Tang San out in another way.

Prince Xue Xing plans an immediate defeat for Shi Lan School. Meanwhile, they all set out to hunt to level up their abilities before the contest begins. Ou SiKe takes the first round.

The match begins but not all of Shi Lan Ke's members are there. Tang San notices an unexpected combining of his powers. Prince Xue Xing sends someone to kill Tang San. Tai Tan uncovers Tang San's identity.

Tai Tian explains his connection to Tang Hao and to Xue Xing. Ye ZhiQiu defeats the Imperial School's 2nd team by himself. Dai MuBai takes care of a recovering Zhu ZhiQing, to her consternation.

Shi Nian becomes aware that Ye ZhiQiu has broken free of his mind control temporarily. Prince Xue Xing seeks to undermine Shi Lan Ke school - and makes an excellent, targeted offer. The team gets battered by simple physics.

The Chief of Martial Soul Hall greets several important people - Qian RenXue, The Ghost Master, Tang San, and her former flame Yu XiaoGang. Without knowing her real identity, Tang San makes a deal with Qian RenXue.

Dai MuBai is injured and dejected after a sudden attack. A special token grants Tang San access to archive records but someone gets there first. The battles have been arranged - both in the arena and apparently in the outside world.

Dai MuBai finds a partner in Zhu ZhuQing and together they face off against his powerful brother. Ye ZhiQiu hands over an arrowhead. Tang San follows clues and believes he knows who the spy is. Missing teams present a new conundrum.

Shi Nian leads Tang San to his father and the plan to assassinate Bi BiDong is fully revealed. The capture of the spy is foiled when Tang San interrupts the proceedings. Lan De makes an announcement.

The Martial Soul team is formidable, especially their Captain. An assassination is attempted. Bi BiDong attempts to capture Xiao Wu for her collection. Tang Hao reunites with his son and reveals some of his history.
