It's the start of the new wheelchair basketball season and Desperados coach, Baggy, finds all his star players have the left the team - he is in desperate need of some new players and talent.

After worrying about a lack of new players, Baggy thinks his problem is solved when he spots Kyle playing basketball and asks him to try out for the team. It's what Kyle's always wanted but his mum forbids him to go as she is worried it will interfere with his schoolwork. The only way Kyle can get to training is by going in secret with the help of his brother Jake.
