In the early 1990s in the fictitious town of San Gregorio, Mexico; Dani, a high-school senior, forms an unlikely alliance with Victoria, Olivia and Tamara to find out what happened to Lorena, who has mysteriously disappeared.

Dani doesn't buy the official version of what happened at the library, so she convinces the other girls to do their own research on it. Olivia transcribes Lorena's diary and is worried by what she finds.

The girls find out that Lorena was studying them, and that she thought they all had special abilities. When it comes to Dani, though, she's still a mystery.

Dani thinks they were brainwashed by the VHS tape they rented. She and Tamara attempt to show this tape to Olivia and Victoria to prove it, but the tape turns out to be way more dangerous than they thought.

Dani, Tamara, Victoria and Olivia escape the town's party to investigate what's behind Victoria's family's car assembler mysterious wall. What they find will change the course of their lives forever.

After reaching a dead-end with Victoria's hunch, the girls realize that people around them start acting strange. Suddenly, they seem to be under surveillance everywhere they go. Dani's senses heighten and JP reveals an unsettling truth.

The girls agree to pretend that everything is normal around people, but they still secretly exchange the information they gather about their suspicious surroundings. They meet at Olivia's house and find something that changes everything.

After their discovery at Olivia's house, the girls can't keep living a lie anymore. They desperately try to come up with a plan to escape. What seems like an impossible task, ends up revealing secret alliances and traps.

Alone and with no more allies, Dani, Victoria, Olivia and Tamara follow the clues Miguel left Olivia. Convinced that they deserve answers, they seek for help in someone Dani fully trusts, but they might walk directly into another trap.

Dani, Olivia and JP search for that place Miguel told them about. Tamara and Victoria have to figure out a way to escape from Sam. They all collide in that place in the desert where Dani might finally get the answers she was looking for.
