Eight men compete in the cha cha cha and foxtrot, then face off in salsa and Viennese waltz relays.

The first two contestants, one man and one woman, are eliminated. The show also includes a performance by Sean Kingston, a premiere video from Miley Cyrus, a performance by the cast of "The Lion King", and a tribute to Patrick Swayze.

The contestants compete in the jive, quickstep and tango. Director Baz Luhrmann serves as a guest judge, filling in for Len Goodman.

In the semifinals, each of the four contestants performs three individual dances - a ballroom dance, a Latin dance, and also the knock-out dance they've been rehearsing for a month. Background features on all four are also included.

One of the four semifinalists is eliminated, and performances by Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis and the Bee Gees are featured, along with a number from the upcoming musical film "Nine". The pro dancers also discuss the work involved in performing their own separate dance numbers.

The three finalists compete with two individual dances - including the freestyle - along with a megamix challenge in which they must perform three dance styles side-by-side with identical choreography.

Finalists Kelly Osbourne, Mya and Donny Osmond compete in their last dance to capture the mirrorball trophy. The season's eliminated contestants and some past inept favorites return with additional dances, Whitney Houston performs, Jeffrey Ross welcomes a new member to the Losers Club, and Jerry Rice has a dance-off against Michael Irvin.
