When Annie insinuates that Len is dishonest, he, Harry and Concepta walk out of the Rovers Return.

The regulars gather at The Flying Horse in protest at Annie's actions.

Frank discovers Florrie has been over charging him 10/- on his orders.

Dennis' cheque for £8 16/- finally arrives from Lenny Phillips and the Walkers cash it.

Albert refuses to let Ena stay at the Mission.

Harry swaps his whippets for a greyhound, much to Concepta's horror.

Florrie wins £6.10/- at bingo.

Concepta is horrified when Harry feeds Lucky Lolita steak and port.

At Number.11, Elsie discovers her money is missing.

Dennis agrees to defrost Minnie's pipes with a blow torch for two buckets of coal, whilst as Elsie chops up her furniture for warmth.

Ken Barlow receives two items of post; the left-wing magazine 'Survival' and a cheque.

The residents get an unpleasant surprise when the evening paper is delivered. Frank accuses his son of betraying his class by writing the article. Len reacts with fury to Ken's words.

Ken Barlow has concussion from a cut on his head from his fight.

The Orinoco Club closes for redecoration, giving Dennis two weeks holiday.

Concepta tells Harry that they are going to be having a baby.

Ena worries about her financial struggles.

The committee offer Ena her job back.

Dennis organises a charity performance for the over 60's club.

Dennis finds that he has too many audience members for his concert at the Mission Hall. Jack and Annie set off for the licensees' annual dinner in town. Minnie comes to the rescue when Ena takes the key to the piano.

Annie gossips about Concepta's age in the shop.

Ken Barlow reveals he is writing a novel about three boys growing up together in a back street.

Dennis goes to London to help Lenny Phillips open a new office.

Jack nervously awaits Annie's reaction to the news that his illness was not genuine. Ena orders Minnie and Martha to cancel their plans and accompany her to the cinema. Concepta hopes that Harry's greyhound loses the race.

Albert spies Ena through a window and Harry smashes the door down.

Jack nurses his dying eighty-seven year old mother in Barnsley.

With his mother now dead, Jack returns to the Rovers Return.

Minnie and Martha smuggle a bottle of milk stout into the hospital in a bunch of plastic tulips.

Word spreads about Nellie Fairclough leaving home.

Florrie asks Len to fix her up with a new fireplace before hearing that Elsie is keeping house for him.

Len is sacked from Birtwistles when someone tells his boss he's been conning immigrants.

Len starts up a business in his own backyard .

The Walkers, the Hewitts and Len take the car and go for a picnic. Florrie asks Elsie to go on a double date with her. Minnie and Martha persuade Ena to join them for a day in the park.

Minnie sees a light on in the house, prompting Harry and Ken to investigate.

Martha finds a mysterious message planted in number.9's letterbox.

Len captures Billy Makin, a little lad who tells of how the Black Hand Gang have been meeting in the house.

Florrie has another date with Rep Lawrence, at the theatre.

Philippa's engagement makes the Sunday newspapers.

Annie grows hysterical over not hearing from Billy.

Annie warms to Philippa when she has similar ideas to her about the Rovers Return.

Esther announces she's leaving the Street to live in Moor Lane.

Annie worries about Ken Barlow's intentions with Philippa.

Ena receives a letter from the Palace telling her that her complaint has been noted.

Billy and Philippa break off their engagement as Philippa wants to return to beauty contests.

Doreen packs in her job at a grocers on Rosamund Street and looks for more work.

The publishers reject Ken Barlow's novel.

Despite Sheila's best efforts, Christine's depression worsens with dramatic consequences. Swindley nervously awaits a visit from Mr. Papagopolous. Frank buys a blouse for Florrie.

Lucille hopes that Ken Barlow will marry Christine.

Jack is summoned to sort out his mother's will.

Gamma Garments advertise their new blouses on television.

Swindley turns the loft of the shop into a store room and Len does the alterations.

Sheila reveals that her dad is retiring and that the family is moving to the country.

Business is good for Len and he considers hiring additional staff.

Doreen persuades Emily to confront Swindley about a pay rise.

Jack refuses to go on holiday to Babbacombe with a couple of Annie's snobby friends and tells her she can go on her own.

Elsie refuses to see Bill until he makes a decision about his marriage. Valerie dithers over Ken's proposal. Jack stands up to Annie over the holiday.

Annie goes on holiday on her own.

Len advertises for an apprentice with a card in the Corner Shop window.

Len takes Jerry Booth on as apprentice, his old place having come to an end with the death of Joe White.

The landlord agrees to let Minnie rent number.5 on a weekly basis.

Frank is angry that David isn't coming to the wedding.

On the morning of the nuptials, Ken is suffering from a hangover while Valerie is unhappy with her bouquet. Concepta decides not to attend the ceremony. Elsie is taken aback when Ena offers some kind words.

Ken Barlow and Val clash on their honeymoon over what to visit in London.

Annie takes Sam on as waiter in the Rovers Return.

Ken and Val Barlow return from their honeymoon to the delight of the neighbours.

Christopher keeps the Hewitts up all night.

Sam delays Jack over his national insurance card.

Martha spreads the news that Frank has jilted Florrie.

Swindley writes a piece on Sam called 'the good Samaritan', for the Mission Gazette.

Ena tells Swindley she couldn't get hold of a photo.

Swindley is shortlisted as candidate for the PPOP.

Len thinks that Ena has grassed up Sam to the police.

The residents send Ena to Coventry and are short with Minnie and Martha.

Jerry is upset by the way Doreen and Sheila treat him as a big joke.

Annie prepares the snug for Ena, replacing her old chair with a new one.

Ena demands expensive wallpaper for the Vestry but the committee says she must have a cheaper one.

The Barlows order a telephone.

Sheila and Doreen aren't impressed by their party.

The Hewitts celebrate their first wedding anniversary and make more of an effort with Lucille.

Harry and Concepta are devastated by Christopher's disappearance. Lucille holds herself responsible and worries that her father will never forgive her. The police arrive and question Swindley and Miss Nugent.

Len and Florrie tell her about Christopher's kidnapping.

Gawpers continue to hang round outside number.7.

Sheila reveals that Edwin is a distant cousin.

Albert gets a job as a crossing warden.

Sheila is stiff and sore after her bike ride.

Elsie takes her dress to the cleaners.

Ena refuses to clean the Mission for Swindley's meeting, so Spinks has to.

The Applebys want Christine to live with them but she refuses.

Christine starts at Miami Modes.

Albert is puzzled when Susan sports a bruised face.

The Street is dug up so the Barlow's telephone cable can be laid and the residents are furious.

Albert resolves to confront Susan's father about his mistreatment of her. Jerry fears Len's reaction to the basin fiasco. Jed persists in hawking his wares at Gamma Garments.

Dennis writes to Elsie asking her to take Jed in as a lodger.

Ken Barlow looks forward to leaving Bessie Street School at Christmas.

The residents vote at Bessie Street School.

Linda doesn't seem very keen on Canada.

The Birtles want Sheila to live with them in Rawtenstall.

The play is cast and Len agrees to make the scenery.

Frank becomes shirty about his age.

Christine gets the message from Val's behaviour and is cool towards Frank.

Val worries about the lack of trade and the money situation with Ken giving up work.

Kenneth and Valerie reach an understanding, thanks to Albert's interference. Swindley despairs as the play's dress rehearsal falls apart around him. Rumours circulate regarding Len's health.

Emily is a bundle of nerves as the start of the performance approaches. Ena agrees to play the piano to entertain the audience. Elsie, Ivan and Linda reluctantly agree to watch the play.

Harry worries when Len doesn't come to number 7 at Christmas.

Sheila and Doreen plan a new year's eve party in their flat; Jed wants an invite but they refuse him one.
