Hayden is pleasantly surprised with his team's performance in the first game of the year only to find out Christine has a less pleasant surprise back home.

Riley Pringle is bitten by Luther's dog, Quincy. After the incident Riley wants the dog put to sleep, but Luther tries to stop him.

Christine interviews for a job as a co-host. She soon realizes she wasn't hired for her talent.

Hayden's Screaming Eagles have started the season with four straight victories, yet Hayden is upset as he believes his team has not been the better team in those wins.

Kelly gets a job in New York and Hayden doesn't want to let her go.

Hayden goes to New York to accept an award and is excited to visit Kelly, but after seeing her at work Hayden is worried Kelly is making similar mistakes he once made in putting work before family.

Hayden and Howard go out of town for a conference leaving Christine with Shirley for a weekend. Christine soon becomes concerned about Shirley's activities when Howard's away and requests Hayden's help to save the Burleigh's marriage.
