Paul and the family deal with the consequences of the decision he made to move out for the good of Luke. Good and bad past family events in flashbacks occupy their thoughts.

The family are accepting their separation routines. Paul gets comfortable with his new calm and serene locale; Ally solely deals with the harried and hectic lifestyle of kids, compounded by a crisis at work.

A back injury leaves Paul high on Leah's supply, as he raids her collection of heavy-duty painkillers. As Luke and his dad get closer, Ally and Ava drift further apart, and Ally looks for someone to blame.

Paul and Ally deal with their aging bodies, and tempers seethe.

Professional and personal dramas encircle Ally and Paul, overshadowing Ava's birthday.

Pressures from all three generations of the family, the kids, the parents, and the grandparents, through personal crises, cause the lids to blow off in different strengths and directions.

Paul and Ally resolve their wounded feelings from the past episode, then deal with new issues stemming from problems of Ava and Luke.

Paul takes his parents to the countryside, to recreate a cherished memory. But the revelation of secrets leaves all of them reeling.

Jim and Jackie are both struggling under their new circumstances.

A furious argument between Paul and Ally is interrupted by Ava's news about Jim.
