Police Sargent David Budd returns to the line of duty in his role as principal protection officer. Set some time after his grueling ordeal as PPO for former Home Secretary Julia Montague, David Budd is tasked with a new role. The Afghan war veteran, who suffers from intense PTSD, is a stoic and serious character undergoing occupational health treatment. As he attempts to heal from a life of institutionalised violence and be present for his family he is given a new job, one that only he can do.
