D.W.'s Library Card: When D.W. discovers that she can get her own library card, she rejoices at the world of books waiting for her. (Now if only she could sign her name to get the card in the first place...) Arthur's Big Hit: Is it ever okay to hit someone? Sometimes you just get so mad, you wanna.... pow! Right?? Arthur experiences considerable confusion, and finally clarity, as he finds himself on both ends of the hitting question.

When a snake Arthur and his friends find the woods gets loose in the Read house, they have to find it before Arthur's parents find out or somebody gets hurt, because they think the snake might be poisonous.; Muffy tries to find a new "best friend" after she and Francine don't like doing the same things.

When D.W. has a brush with poison ivy, Buster tells a story about how he once got asthma. When Buster learns he has asthma, his friends start treating him differently, thinking that Buster needed special attention. Buster educates his friends by doing a science project about asthma. Muffy and Francine play several tricks on Arthur, Buster, Binky, and the Brain and invite them to a costume party at a haunted house.
