In 2011, he directed ;Rajanna' which won the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film.Since 1988, he was the screen writer for more than 25 films, most of which turned out to be block busters.His recent works include Baahubali : The Beginning, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan which became biggest blockbusters of the year, for which Prasad won the Filmfare Award for Best Story.Prasad is the father of film maker @S. S. Rajamouli and uncle to music composers M. M. Keeravani, M.M. Srilekha, Kalyani Malik, and writer S.S. Kanchi.
