Vasil Akyov was born on June 6, 1924 in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria. Some of his works are: "Republic of mortals" (novel, 1966), "And the day came" (novel, 1967), "Worlds" (criticism, 1968), "Joker" (novel, 1977). He is author of scenarios: " Birds and hounds " (1969) (directed by Gueorgui Stoyanov), "Tiger" (1972), (directed by Mariana Evstatieva - Biolcheva ), " And the day came " (1973) (directed by Georgi Djulgerov ), " Panteley " (1978) (directed by Gueorgui Stoyanov), " House " (1979) (directed by Stefan Dimitrov). There are many his publications in the magazine "Torch." He died on February 7, 1989. Vasil Akyov receives posthumous award of Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers for Lifetime Achievement.
