Troy grew up as a boy in Rhinelander, WI but spent most of his adult life in Los Angeles California. He graduated from Columbia in Chicago with a degree in film. He has worked both behind the camera and in front of the camera. Early in his career he hosted Pre-View Guide now known as TV Guide.
