Toma Caragiu

Toma Caragiu was born on Aug 21, 1925 in Romania. Toma Caragiu's big-screen debut came with Forest of the Hanged directed by Liviu Ciulei in 1965, strarring Habsburg officer. Toma Caragiu is known for The Mace with Three Seals directed by Constantin Vaeni, Victor Rebengiuc stars as Michael the Brave and Toma Caragiu as Pamfilie. The upcoming new movie Toma Caragiu plays is The Mace with Three Seals which will be released on Sep 12, 1977.

Toma Caragiu was one of the best Romanian actors, playing either comedy or drama, but having a special attraction to the comic movies. He tragically died during the earthquake in Bucharest in 1977, being trapped under the remains of the block of flats he lived in, which collapsed. His body was found days later. An unexpected death for the man who always succeeded to make the oppressed Romanians in Ceausescu's communist era laugh.
