Tien Niu

Tien Niu

actress, music department

Tien Niu was born on Jan 23, 1958 in Taiwan. Tien Niu's big-screen debut came with Zao shou directed by Tsun-Shou Sung in 1974.

Tien Niu, younger sister of glamorous Shaw Brothers actress Tien Ni (aka Tanny) born from a family of Shandong lineage, followed her sister's footsteps first as a television and movie teen-idol in their native Taiwan before her frank and provocative debut performance for Hong Kong audiences in director Sung Tsu-shou's popular 'Zao Shou' aka 'Thirteen' for Shaw Brothers in 1974. The success of that film still resonate with teenage girls today enough for Shaws veteran Derek Yee to helm a Cantonese remake also entitled 'Zao shou' aka 'Jo Sok' (2 Young, 2005) with the young Fiona Sit reprising the role made famous by Tien Niu.
