Thom Mount began his career working for legendary producer Roger Corman. Then on to Universal Pictures where he quickly rose through the studio's ranks. At the age of 26, Mount was named President of Universal Pictures. Dubbed a "Baby Mogul" by Time Magazine, Mount was responsible for developing and overseeing over 200 feature films during his tenure at Universal, including Smokey and the Bandit, National Lampoon's Animal House, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Breakfast Club, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, Car Wash, Deer Hunter, The Blues Brothers, Back to the Future and Scarface.After eight years at Universal's top post, Mount became a successful independent producer. Some of the films that Mount is best known for include Can't Buy Me Love, Tequila Sunrise, Natural Born Killers and the baseball classic Bull Durham. His film Death and the Maiden was first produced by Mount as a successful Broadway play. Mount served two terms President of the Producers Guild of America, an organization which he helped to revitalize. The Mount Company currently has several films in pre-production.
