Ted Casablanca

actor, additional crew

Ted Casablanca was born on Nov 20, 1960 in USA. Ted Casablanca's big-screen debut came with Bright Lights, Big City directed by James Bridges in 1988.

Millions know his name, but few know where it came from. But everyone reads Ted Casablanca - he is the seminal pioneer of gossip snark - someone who has always given us the real dish, with an extra dollop of attitude.Everyday, Casablanca brings us "The Awful Truth", his online take-no-prisoners reportage on the famous (like Nicole Kidman), the not-so- famous, (insert reality star name here) and the barely-famous (Michael Lohan).Prior to joining E!, Casablanca did nine years time at "Premiere", the monthly film magazine, where he conceived "The Awful Truth", before taking his dish over to E! as a weekly (and later daily) column. At "Premiere", his celebrity coverage ran the gamut, from the queens -- Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor - to the crazies -- Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. Previously, he had worked at both "Rolling Stones" and "Esquire".Casablanca also served as E! Online's correspondent on The Gossip Show (1993) for many years. He is a regular contributor to E!'s flagship series, E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and E! Specials. When he's not obsessing about Robert Pattinson's love life, working out or walking his dogs, "Margo" and "Charlie", Ted is a regular contributor and agitator on numerous networks and shows, including The View (1997), Extra (1994), At Large with Geraldo Rivera (2003), the Today (1952) Show, CNN and Fox & Friends (1998). In addition, Casablanca has gone global with appearances in the UK and Australia.Other television appearances include: Grosse Pointe (2000) (as himself), and in an episode of General Hospital (1963). One of the most important appearances for Ted, though, was his commentary, alongside cast member Barbara Parkins, for the special edition DVD of Valley of the Dolls (1967). He also appeared in the featurette on the bonus DVD entitled, The Divine Ms. Susann (2006).Ted is a staunch gay, women and animal rights activist, his astrological sign is Scorpio, his favorite color is green and he is divorced, with no plans to marry again.
