Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Sumaya Rida is one of the few Saudi Arabian actresses and a trailblazer in the Saudi film industry. She is notable for her charismatic personality, graceful looks and unique talent. Her passion for films, storytelling and humanity shines through in her brilliant performance and distinctive roles.At the age of 16, she left to continue her studies in the United Kingdom. After finishing her MSc degree from the University of Surrey, she went back to work in Saudi Arabia. In summer 2017 she got her first role in Bashar (2018) TV show while continuing her Method Acting education in the Middle East.Sumaya is constantly engraving her name in the growing Saudi film industry while appearing in several TV shows, her first movie appearance "Roll'em" was the very first Saudi movie to be premiered in the Kingdom's cinemas following official legalization. She also co-starred in the multimillion Saudi hit crime and thriller show Rashash (2021), which follows the story of the notorious criminal who lived in the 1980s. Nofilter (2018), Another Planet (2019), Boxing Girls 2 (2020), The Mountain Guard (2020) and Baed Hin (2022) are some of the shows she starred and co-starred in.Sumaya continues to be a portrayal of Saudi ambition to work with some of the biggest world-renowned names. Appearing alongside John Travolta in the short film, Expo 2020, shaping the narrative of Saudi Arabia to the world. Her most recent feature film Rupture (2020) surpassed expectations while starring against Billy Zane, performing her own stage combat and stunts, went on to receive RSIFF best Saudi film awards.
