Sandra Peabody, born Sandra Lee Peabody in Portland, Oregon, would become known as a prolific talent agent, award-winning children's television producer, acting coach, and a cult star through a brief career in acting. Peabody grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, first appearing in Misfit (1965). After graduating, Peabody moved to New York and studied under master acting teacher Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse and earned a degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania - leading to a recurring career in stage work acting alongside performers such as Barbara Eden and John Bennett Perry. Moving to more demanding roles, Peabody reached fame in 1972 when Wes Craven cast her as the lead in his directorial debut La Dernière Maison sur la gauche (1972). She later starred in the feature films Voices of Desire (1972), Massage Parlor Murders! (1973), Legacy of Satan (1974), and Les stoppeuses (1974). Peabody quit acting in the late 1970s and began producing and writing award-winning family-orientated programming for local television. Writing credits include the series Where in the World (1990). She would later work as both a talent agent and acting coach.
