Sai-Wing Yip

Sai-Wing Yip was born on Aug 19, 1963 in China. Sai-Wing Yip's big-screen debut came with The Fun, the Luck & the Tycoon directed by Johnnie To in 1990, strarring Lam Bo Sun's Coworker in Restaurant (as Beyond).

Yip Sai-Wing was the drummer of Hong Kong pop band "Beyond". He was born in Hong Kong and attended Salesian English School. He has two younger sisters. When he was 16, he got his first drum set and met Wong Ka-Kui, another member of "Beyond", in a music store and gathered with others to form a band. Later, he introduced a guitarist and vocal, Paul Wong, to "Beyond" and provided a house for the band to practice. In late 80s, "Beyond" became the most popular pop band in Hong Kong. He released a solo album 'Beautiful Time Machine' in 2001. The following year, his girlfriend, Cynthia Hui, whom he had been dating for 7 years, accidentally fell into the bathtub and later was found dead in the bathroom of their apartment.
