Russell Calabrese is an Animation Producer/Director/Animator/Designer who is a tireless champion of the animation industry. He is a former executive board member of The Animation Guild and Animation Peer Group Governor of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.In the Stone Age, Russell got his start polishing and painting animation cels and worked his way up the animation food chain at New York City studios like Perpetual Motion Pictures, Zander's Animation Parlour and R/Greenberg Associates, doing commercials, television specials and features. In 1990 he made the move to L.A. where he worked for Disney, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Film Roman and many others.Russell's experience includes Storyboards, Layouts, Animation, Voices, Design, Producing and Directing. He is a seven time nominee and three time Emmy®Award winning Director for "Steven Spielberg Presents Pinky and the Brain", "Camp Lazlo" and "Fanboy & Chum Chum". He was also a sequence director on the Oscar® Nominated feature "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius". He has recently worked as an Animation Timing Director at Walt Disney TV Animation on "Gravity Falls" and as an Assistant Director on Disney's Phineas & Ferb.Recently moved to Huntington, Massachusetts working on personal animation, film, art and music projects.
