Rod Amador was born on Sep 16, 1976 in Nicaragua. Rod Amador's big-screen debut came with America: The Motion Picture directed by Matt Thompson in 2021.

Rod was born in the city of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, and developed an interest in the arts at an early age. His parents enrolled him in drawing and painting classes, which helped him establish his craft.At the age of 12, during the Nicaraguan civil war, his family decided to exit the country for a better life and immigrated to Canada. They settled in the quiet and thriving city of London, Ontario.While in London, Rod continued to develop his artistic skills, and after completing high school, he set his sights on attending the world-renowned Sheridan College's Classical Animation program. Into his second year at Sheridan, Rod grew increasingly frustrated with the curriculum, and with a heavy conscience, he left the program.In the summer of 1999, he moved to Ottawa, Ontario, where he began his career in TV Animation, and there was no turning back. Later that year, he moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he continued to work in TV Animation. He branched out into Interactive Animation for an E-Learning company until he made his way back to Ottawa at the end of 2003.Upon returning to Ottawa, he focused on becoming a Storyboard Artist. He managed to land lucrative contracts until the Spring of 2008 when he decided to open an Animation studio Big Jump Entertainment Inc., with two business partners.After 13 plus years as part of the executive team at Big Jump, Rod Amador has made the difficult decision to resign and depart the company to focus on new opportunities.He lives outside of Ottawa with his wife and sons.
