Robert Duncan McNeill was born on November 9, 1964 in North Carolina, but raised in Washington, D.C. until his family finally settled down in Atlanta, Georgia. Later, he attended a local high school and, after he graduated, he moved to New York City and enrolled at Juilliard where he spent two years studying the trade. While he was attending Juilliard, he got the role of "Charlie Brent" on the popular ABC daytime drama La force du destin (1970). He has also been on many TV shows and movies - including popular shows such as La cinquième dimension (1985), La loi de Los Angeles (1986), Les soeurs Reed (1991), Arabesque (1984), Au-delà du réel - l'aventure continue (1995), Preuve à l'appui (2001), Star Trek: Voyager (1995), Poker d'amour à Las Vegas (1990), Homefront (1991), Going to Extremes (1992), among others. After he left La force du destin (1970), he landed a role in Stephen Sondheim's Broadway musical "Into the Woods".
