Rika Izumi, previously known as Chisaki Hama, was born on October 11, 1988 in Kyoto, Japan. She's best known as the girl genius Sailor Mercury in Bishôjo Senshi Sailor Moon (2003). She was the youngest cast member out of the Sailor Soldiers. Like her cast mates, she's a model turned actress. Besides acting, she also sings & plays the saxophone. Prior to her success in Sailor Moon, she did other work such as idol specials on TV & modeling for various magazines. Afterwards, she decided to step out of the lime light. She returned to modeling in June 2008. She's now represented by Stardust Promotion.
