Born outside of Philadelphia, Richard Charles Brand II entered the world on 17 October 1978, the second child of Dick Brand Sr. and Jacqueline Knouse. Within the first five years of his life, Richie was on the move to Arizona with his family. Despite numerous moves in and around the city of Phoenix, Richie settled down in this Southwestern desert town determined to make a name for himself. After beginning work at age 13 and making as much money as he could to support himself, Richie graduated in the top ten percent of his class from Mountain Pointe High School in 1996. With dreams of becoming a sportscaster, Richie attended Arizona State University in the Fall of 1996 and graduated swiftly thereafter in the Spring of 2000 with a B.A. in Broadcasting from the esteemed Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. With a sportscaster career put on hold, Brand moved to Los Angeles in July 2000 to pursue a job in finance. Shortly after this big move and a stagnant position at his job, Richie decided to pursue an interest in acting. These dreams were achieved in mid-2002, when Richie landed a breakthrough role in the Saran Kolankaya-directed _ Hillz, The (2003)_ , (set for release in 2003). Brand plays the role of "X" in the film, a troublesome drug dealer who does not shy away from confrontation and ends up paying the ultimate price.
