Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England in 1977 Richard Reay began writing and directing in 1996 while working as a professional actor in his home town before moving to London to continue his own studies. After attending the renowned Central School of Speech and Drama he toured, as an actor, with the Triskellion Theatre Company as the lead in John Millington Synge's "Rider's to the Sea" throughout London. On his return to Newcastle he co-founded Freestyle Film Productions and began to develop short projects, both dramatic and corporate and became a founder member of the FNA Films group and co-produced the short film "Making Tea for the Mob" with Zahra Zommorodian followed closely by "A Blank Slate" in which he also played the lead role.
