During the 90s he worked as a free-lance scriptwriter for publicity, documentary and TV shows. He has written a book about the Spanish horror film director Amando de Ossorio, who was born in A Coruña, too. Now Calvo is working as a script writer for Ignacio Benedeti Cinema in A Coruña.
