Composer, songwriter ("Park Avenue Strut"), comedian, author and accordionist, educated in Boston schools. His first stage appearance was in a Boston amateur show. He teamed up with violinist Ed Janis, and later with Ben Bernie. He served in the US Navy during World War I, and then worked in vaudeville and was featured on radio's "Take It or Leave It." He also appeared in the Broadway musicals: "Music Box Revue", "Crazy Quilt", "Artists and Models", "Greenwich Village Follies", "A Night in Spain", and "Calling All Stars". He joined ASCAP in 1929, and his other popular song compositions include "Look At Those Eyes"; "Just Suppose"; "Antoinette"; "Strange Interlude"; "Humming a Love Song"; "Rainy Day Pal"; "Pretty Little Baby"; "Did You Mean It?"; "My Heaven on Earth"; and "Invitation to a Broken Heart".
