Veteran film editor Otho Lovering was born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1892. In his late 20s he he got a job at Vitagraph Pictures in New York as a lowly production assistant, but became an editor in the 1920s. He went to work as an editor for Paramount Pictures, which showed its gratitude for the outstanding work he did for them by letting him direct several westerns in the mid-'30s.
