Michael D. McAllister was first inspired to make films when he had the opportunity to watch Steven Spielberg direct "The Color Purple" in North Carolina. McAllister attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Television/Motion Picture Department during which time he worked as a Production Assistant/Grip on Sam Raimi's production "Evil Dead 2." He has won several film/video awards including: The Spooner Award (UNC-CH Cinematography Award) for "Beyond The Last Thought"; Paramount Pictures "Pet Sematary 2" Video Promotion ($10,000 First Prize); and a "Communicator Award" for "Life's a Drag" which was produced at Georgia State University. In 2002, McAllister produced the documentary "Treasure Hunters," which screened at more than a dozen film festivals nationwide including the San Francisco Documentary Festival, won Best Documentary Short at the F4 Film Festival in Massachussetts, and received three other nominations. McAllister recently completed a Master's Degree in Film/Video/Digital Imaging at Georgia State University and is currently promoting his feature film "Last Ride" on the film festival circuit as well as developing new script ideas and a novel.
