Matt Hoverman is a playwright, TV and screenwriter, actor and teacher whose work across multiple disciplines demonstrates his imagination, humanity and wit.His TV writing credits include Arthur (PBS) (for which he was awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program and the Humanitas Prize for Children's Animation), Curious George (PBS/Hulu), Sofia the First (Disney Jr.), Goldie & Bear (Disney Jr.) and Fancy Nancy (Disney Jr.).Matt's plays include the comedies The Glint (given a gala reading on Broadway starring Beau Bridges, Jean Smart, Michael McKean and Cecily Strong) and Thrillsville (given a gala reading at the George Street Playhouse starring Edie Falco, Grant Shaud, Richard Kind, Adriane Lenox, Cindy Cheung and Bruce Faulk), as well as: Who You See Here (Martha's Vineyard Playhouse production, La Jolla Playhouse workshop directed by Christopher Ashley), In Transit (FringeNYC Overall Excellence Award for Outstanding Playwriting), The Audience (co-author, Drama Desk nomination for Best New Musical), The Student (winner, Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival), Christmas Shorts (published by Samuel French and - produced by theaters across the country - quickly becoming a new holiday classic), Searching for God in Suburbia, The Coach, The Last App and more. His teaching is the subject of a NY Times feature article and the documentary SOLO by Shannon Romines.Matt lives in LA with his actress and playwright wife Katie Atcheson.Education: MFA in Acting, University of California, San Diego; BA in playwriting, Brown University (where he was admitted into Paula Vogel's graduate playwriting workshop as an undergrad.)
