In 2015 he won the International Press Institute's Auteur Award for his work in film.The author of six highly acclaimed novels (see: www.martynburke.com) he has been nominated for Best First Novel in Canada and several of his novels have been under option to major movie studios. His novels have been translated and published in Japan, Turkey, France, Germany, Holland and many other foreign countries. His novel The Commissar's Report has just been sold to HBO in Hollywood, to be produced as a series.He currently divides his time between Toronto and Santa Monica California
