Markus was born in Bergen, Norway. He trained as a professional actor at Guildford School of Acting in England, graduating in 1995. He is a much used voice actor, and a lot of Norwegian children recognize him in particular for "Little Charley Bear" (which James Corden did originally). On screen he is best known for playing Karstens father, Harald, in the "Karsten og Petra" series of films (6 feature films and 2 seasons for TV), and most recently as Peter in the TV-series "22. juli" about the terrorist attacks in central Oslo and Utøya political youth camp on the 22nd of July 2011.
