Mark Rand has been performing on the stages of coastal Georgia since the early '90s. Originally from El Paso, Texas, he traded the sandy desert Mountains for the mossy marshes of Savannah while in his late teens. At middle age, his foray into film and television began when he was cast as the ambitious Alvin Bernstein Sr. in Brian and Matthew Titshaw's quirky feature film comedy The Space Jockey Pursuit (2013). He was then quickly cast as an attorney, Michael, in Four Senses (2013), written and directed by the late Rüdiger von Spies. Rand later had the honor of accepting the role of the sanitarium doctor attending Gloria Steinem's mother, opposite Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander, in Julie Taymor's The Glorias (2020) as well as that of U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase in the Apple TV+ limited series Manhunt (2022) directed by Carl Franklin and starring Tobias Menzies, Anthony Boyle, and Patton Oswalt.
