Maren Whitney Ord was born Feb 28th, 1981 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is the 8th of 10 children, born into a religous Mormon family. She went to school in Edmonton. Maren taught herself to play the guitar and her mother taught her the piano. Maren was a member of her family singing group, Ord Family Singers until she decided to go solo. Her debut album, Waiting was released in 2001. Maren is signed with Nettwerk & Capitol Records.
