Angel Luis Arambilet Alvarez Arambilet (born September 16, 1957 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a Spanish-Dominican writer, screen player, producer and film director.Arambilet is President/Founder of the Academy of the Cinematographic Arts And Sciences of the Dominican Republic (ACCINE RD) and the Writers and Screenwriters Guild of the Dominican Republic (AEGRD) and Member of the Founding Board of the Premios Platino for the Iberoamerican Cinema. Also, former President/Founder of EGEDA Dominicana, former Vice-president of the Cinematographer's Guild of the Dominican Republic (ADOCINE), and former Vice-president and Treasurer of the Iberoamerican Federation of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA).Arambilet Won the Dominican National Literary Award in 1994 with the short stories book "Cayenne petals" and again in 2005 with the novel "Neguri's secret". In 2005 produced and directed the documentary "Neguri's secret". In 2006 wrote, directed and edited three short films: "Waltz" (Vals: Official selection at Rainier Independent Film Festival 2007), "Sepiazul", and "Luck" (La suerte: Official selection and nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the San Fernando Valley International Film Festival 2007).In 2007 also directed In His image/A imagen y semejanza (Official selection XXII Biennial ELJ 2008. Honorable Mention of the Jury); and Caribbean Kuleshov Effect/ Efecto Kuleshov Caribe (Officialselection XXII Biennial ELJ 2008).Guest Director at the XV Short Films Festival, Punta Umbria,Huelva, Spain; and in 2010 at the XVI Spanish and Latin American International Film Festival, sponsored by the Cervantes Institute of Manchester & Leeds and Cornerhouse Cinemas, Manchester (UK), where he premiered the first science-fiction short film made in the Dominican Republic: "Specimen 1111".In 2013 his feature documentary "Memorias de un Aragonés" was nominated to a best documentary by the Iberoamerican Premios Platino. "Código Paz", a feature film written by Arambilet and exhibited in 2014, won nationally best Picture and best Screenplay, and was selected to represent the country at the Goya Awards and the José María Forqué Awards.In 2016 his feature documentary "Dr. Nasha", was official selection of the FIAPF X Festival FCGD.In 2018-2019 is Associate Producer in charge of the International relations of the movies: "La isla rota / Broken Island", "Lo que siento por ti / What I feel for you" and "Carta Blanca / White Card".Presently have several feature films in development/pre-production: "El misterio del manatí de oro", "Doble Sentido", "Bachata Gringa", "Amín Abel", "1916", "El lejano contrapeso de los astros", "Consuelo (Marie Linda)", "Rulin", "Irka" y "Guarocuya".
