Lito Caraballo was born Misael Caraballo on May 18, 1978, in Heidelberg, Germany. Lito is the son of Misael A. Carballo and Gladys Catala. Misael A. Caraballo worked for an insurance company, and Gladys Catala was an inner-city school teacher in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. The family lived in the suburb of Cleveland in the city of Noth Olmsted, Ohio. Lito graduated from North Olmsted High School in 1996. Lito's family was one of only a few Latinx families in the town. After a short stint at Cuyahoga Community College, Lito decided to join the workforce and joined the IBEW Local 38 as a telecommunications technician. Lito's life in the trades lasted for fifteen years until he decided to return to college to pursue his dream of filmmaking in 2015. Lito went on to study Film, Television, and Interactive Media at Cleveland State University under Fredrick Lahey, Salvatore Cardoni, Maria Gigante, John Vourlis, Dr. Evan Liberman, to name a few. Lito graduated with honors from Cleveland State University's School of Film and Media Arts in the spring of 2019. Lito was selected and nominated for awards by the Kinodrome International Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Short Fest for his work on his micro-short film "One In the Barrel: a Western Flick." A film that he helped create with his writing partner Jon David Sebastian, actor Eric Miksanek, and editor Liam Byrne. Lito makes his acting and directing debut in this hilarious nod to western comedies. Lito continues to work producing films under his production companies Stackpipe Productions and NEOP Productions. Lito lives in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, with his wife Megan and his daughter.
