Krista was born and raised in Poland, Ohio until she was eleven, at which time she and her family moved to Hollywood to pursue her acting career. She participated in local theater and numerous television commercials that air in the Mahoning Valley. Her birth name was Krista Gierlach, but she and her family saw it fit that she create a stage name, Krista Swan.
