Knut Faldbakken was born in Oslo on 31st August 1941. He studied Psychology from 1960 to 1962. From 1975 to 1980 he was the editor of the magazine "Vinduet". He's been living as a writer since his debut in 1967 and has written many novels and plays that have yet to be adapted. Got "Hedmarksprisen" (The Hedmark prize) in 1988. In the later years he's been living on Ridabu outside Hamar, Norway. In 1988 his novel Sweetwater was adapted. Sweetwater is the second book and last book in a series, the first being Aftenlandet.
