She played the plum title roles in prestigious TV productions of Robert Montgomery Presents: A Star Is Born (1951) and Kraft Television Theatre: Jane Eyre (1951), caught the eye of Hollywood and became a 20th Century-Fox contractee in 1952. Freelancing after leaving the studio, she kept busy in feature films (mostly Westerns and horror/sci-fi titles) and TV. Crowley has recently turned up at film conventions in Memphis, Baltimore and New Jersey.
