actress

Karen Sheperd was born on Nov 12, 1961 in USA. Karen Sheperd's big-screen debut came with The Concrete Jungle directed by Tom DeSimone in 1982.

Karen Sheperd is an American actress in film, television and theatre. Her recurring guest-star role as "The Enforcer" on television's "Hercules, The Legendary Journeys", opposite Kevin Sorbo, received the highest ratings ever for the entire series. Karen has appeared on numerous other TV shows, Criminal Minds" with Joe Mantegna being the most recent. Karen has traveled the globe starring and co-starring in films and she feels blessed by her amazing worldwide experiences. In a bold move, Karen wrote a letter (to Director, David Engelbach) which landed her a co-star role in "America 3000" with a 3-month stay in Israel. Karen starred in Angelina Jolie's first film, "Cyborg 2". Sheperd also helped train Angelina for film-fighting during preproduction of "Cyborg 2". Karen began starring in action films after becoming the first woman to be officially rated "#1 World Black Belt Forms Champion", a title she held for 2 consecutive years: 1979 and 1980. In another bold move, Karen organized to have that title established for women. Competing with men, Karen was the only woman rated in the top 10. She believed more women would compete if they had a title to work for. After Karen rallied tournament promoters, competitors, and leading a petition, women martial arts competitors ended up with a historic win. "Karate Illustrated" magazine, the only ratings system existing at that time, finally established official, separate ratings for women in 1979. Besides acting, Karen has lent her expertise as a fight-choreographer to various film, television and stage productions, including live-action projects at Disneyland, CA. Karen received rave reviews for her lead theatre roles in plays such as "Summer and Smoke" by Tennessee Williams and "In The Boom Boom Room" by David Rabe. Karen continues her acting pursuits, still waiting for that "breakout" role to find her, is directing independent projects and writing a book.
