A Hollywood, California native, Josie Davis is an actress, producer and writer. Davis began her career at the age of three years old, starring in numerous television commercials. She was cast as a series regular when she was just a child on the hit television show, Charles In Charge. The show was rated number-one in syndication. Josie had three nominations and won the respected Youth In FIlm Award for her role as Sarah Powell. As an adult and the lead in numerous television movies Davis won two Lifetime Movie Network awards.Although she had the option of entering USC's prestigious writing program, Davis decided to continue acting, studying intensely with the late Paul E Richards for twenty years. At the age of twenty four, Davis auditioned for Hollywood heavyweights, Shelley Winters, Mark Rydell and Martin Landau. After only one audition Davis was accepted into the legendary Actors Studio as a member with working privileges, then was made a Lifetime Member after only her callback. Over one thousand actors auditioned, making Davis only one of two actors to be accepted that year.At the time of becoming a member of the Actors Studio Josie was a series regular on the iconic television show, Beverly Hills (1990), playing Camille Desmond, which she starred in through the end of the series. The following season, Davis was cast as a series regular on the legendary Aaron Spelling's next series called, Titans (2000).After searching endlessly for his perfect actress, Nicolas Cage cast Davis in his directorial debut, Sonny (2002). Davis was cast opposite James Franco in a star-studded cast that included Brenda Blethyn, Harry Dean Stanton and Scott Caan.Davis was also cast opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ed O'Neill in a pilot, which guest starred Tom Brady, for ABC called In the Game (2004). Producers could not seem to find a comedic actress perfect to play Carol Cavanaugh in the film Kalamazoo? (2006) co-starring Claire Bloom, Renée Taylor and Chita Rivera until the very last day of auditions when Josie's funny audition came in. She also completed filming the motion picture In the Land of Merry Misfits (2007), produced by Maria Menounos, narrated by John Waters. The film was accepted into 2007's Tribeca Film Festival.Referred to as the King of Comedy, producer Chuck Lorre cast Josie saying, "I couldn't imagine anyone else in this role. You should have been nominated for an emmy" for a very large and memorable guest-star in the 2005 Christmas episode of the CBS hit, Mon oncle Charlie (2003). US Weekly chose Davis' episode as a "Must See".Next for this talented actress were starring roles in a long list of films. Josie shined as a gun toting Southern Belle in Comme une ombre dans la nuit (2007) alongside Claire Forlani and Oliver Hudson; and a concert violinist McBride: Requiem (2006) with John LarroquetteWith a love for working in the independent film world Josie starred in Twilight (2007), a short film opposite respected Ellen Geer, and the comedy Chasing Tchaikovsky (2007) with Ann MagnusonJosie displayed more of her comic chops working opposite David Spade on Leçons sur le mariage (2007) and later turned to a horror limited series for NBC opposite Clifton Collins Jr. in the show Fear Itself (2008), directed by Freddy contre Jason (2003) director Ronny Yu. She has guest starred on too many shows to list but a few favorites were Burn Notice (2007), Bones (2005), Chuck (2007) as well as her recurring role on Les experts: Manhattan (2004) opposite Gary Sinese and Skeet Ulrich.Josie was the female lead in the Hallmarks Channel's Partitions amoureuses (2013), directed by ER's Eriq La Salle, and opposite Eddie Cibrian.In addition to a busy acting career, Davis produced the award-winning comedy short film, Lotto (2003), which she also starred in. She is writing the Untitled Josie Davis Pilot.Josie was under contract as the face and spokesperson for a skin care line and is now representing a new line.Davis is involved in a variety of charities, but has especially loved her volunteer work without the press at the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter where she adopted her cats Gia and Snow.
