From childhood to 1994: Joel Ronald Peter Brown as he is known for his artistic and craftsmanship work; he has experience in both production and performance of entertainment that first got its start during his childhood playtime, where he constructed sets out of anything that could be found laying around the house for his action figures and told stories through it; as if it were a theatrical production. From 1995 to1996: Joel grew with his talent, when he re-built the door of the palace from the movie 'Aladdin' with just a permanent marker and a card board refrigerator box that was for a girl who was in his 4th grade class as he recalls drawing on the back of offering envelopes in the church services that he attended with his mom. From 1997 to 1999: It wasn't till he started going to youth services at his church when a youth pastor saw Joel's creative potential and pulled it out of him. Subsequently, Joel got involved in playing the saxophone for the youth band which would influence other musical talents as a rapper later on. Yet in this church youth group; Joel eventually had an opportunity to start a drama team, writing short drama sketches that pertained to the youth pastor's sermons, building sets for the productions, set dressing, and also acting in these drama sketches. Then in 8th grade; Joel took an acting class in school that helped him to learn the craft, and it also allowed him to practice dressing the set more. From 2002 to 2003: Joel's passion for the fine arts grew as he became interested in directing and producing; from there Joel began to get his feet wet in film-making, by shooting music videos and short films with friends and family members on an 8MM camera to edit them from inside of the camera as this was before he had a computer. Later on Joel joined the varsity football team, where he became a source of inspiration to the team and some members of the community - from the sidelines - through his talent for rapping that the quarterback Jordan Renz had pulled out of him and so he became famous as Tiger-J during the rest of his high school years. Thus, recording and putting out his own albums. As this lead Joel to have one demo to be scouted out by Talent Rock, which landed him into signing a contract with an independent label that's known as Sonic Wave International. Thereafter; Joel continued to make music, manage his own rap band called 'Platinum Hustlaz,' and produce music videos. From 2004 to 2010: After high school, Joel started to get serious about the pursuit of music and film-making as a career endeavor. Therefore, studying theater and film at Tulsa Community College and at the same time, landing my first dream job that was by the grace of God; with on the job experience at Griffin Communication/KOTV News on 6 as a production assistant. Nevertheless, operating the camera and running the teleprompter for the shows. While God had opened the doors for my talents in performance and production to be used in both the college's theater shows, various student films, and even paid work on professional films. Some examples of these are: Persistence of Memory (2003), Painting Shadows (2006), Freaky Faron (2006), Four Sheets to the Wind (2007), Storm (2007), and Deadly Love (2011) - with 'Painting Shadows' being nominated for a best picture award at the Bare Bones Film Festival. Now some of the theater show that Joel was involved in are: Zooman & the Sign, Oedipus Rex, Fiddler on the Roof, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Devious, Christian Carol, and two church Easter plays. While during this time, Joel also started to write screenplays. Also Joel had the chance to be in an OK tourism commercial, nevertheless, be featured as a perfumer in the Teen Talk and Tulsa Music Exposed TV show. From 2013 to 2017: A couple years later, Joel decided to further his education by enrolling into Oral Robert University to chase after a Bachelor's degree in drama, television and film performance. During this time, Joel had more of a humbled experience from having had been in the center of the spotlight as he mainly had worked behind-the-scenes on the productions of Little Women, Eurydice, You can't take it with you, Over the river & through the wood, The Important of being Earnest, South Pacific, 39 Steps, and Diary of Anne Frank; with one small role as Lane in 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. Nevertheless, with some credits as a bit-player and film crew in the following student short films: Stolen, Where's Walter, Unexpected Strangers, The Tweaky Thomas Truthful Todd Tale, Super Shoes also. Overall, while at ORU; the things that were most priceless to Joel that he took away from that college experience was the valuable knowledge that was imparted to him, the instilled greatness from the teachers, and the rediscovery of my self. As it was like God was taking all these different directions that my talents was trying to pull him into going; was being harnessed into one direction that he was to focus pursuing, and that being writing. Whereas, Joel got to "build-upon" his artistic abilities through courses like: Introduction to Interactive Media, Newswriting I, Principles of Audio Production, Principles of TV Production, Media Analysis, Fundamentals of Acting, Theater History I, Advanced Acting, Theater History II, Announcing, Acting Styles, Make-up design, Watercolor, Performance Arts Management, Theater Forms, Critical Read & Writing, Play-writing, film acting, sculpture, scenic design, and even the fitness courses that he took.2018: Joel has taken an interest in becoming a professional craft artist with the hope of owning his own arts studio and gallery that showcases Paper Film-making Wall Art that not only shows a story of a movie without electricity but tells the story of famous actors who has committed suicide; to honor their legacy (rather small or large), and raise awareness about suicide in the entertainment industry - in hopes of building a support system for the artists as an intervention and prevention for it. Joel also ambitions it to be a shop where he can make inventions and 'third-arm movie refreshments and actor's script holders' for his Patrons.
