Grammy award-winning songwriter ("Hello Dolly!" [1965]), composer and author, educated at the University of Miami (Bachelor of Arts) and the Parsons School of Design. His stage scores include "I Feel Wonderful" and "Parade" (off-Broadway), "Night Cap" (for night clubs), and "Milk and Honey", "Mame", and "Hello Dolly!" (Tony and New York Drama Critic awards, 1964) for Broadway. Joining ASCAP in 1963, his other popular-song compositions include "That Was Yesterday", "I Will Follow You", "Show Tune in 3[4 Time", "If He Walked Into My Life", "So Long, Dearie', "Mame", "Jolly Theatrical Season", "Your Good Morning", "Your Hand In My Hand", "Shalom", "There's No Reason In the World", "Milk and Honey', "It Only Takes a Moment", and "Ribbons Down My Back".
