She spent 3 years as a presenter of Watch, a BBC schools programme then a period of time as a presenter and writer for Listen With Mother then had acting experience in such programmes as Callan, George and Mildred, General Hospital, The Harry Worth Show then the role of Nurse Rogers in Emergency Ward 10, Julie Shepherd in Crossroads and made her name with Emmerdale Farm
